I CAN'T IMAGINE SNOW SHOEING IN A WHITE OUT...SCARY.

 

THIS PIC OF LAKE LOUISE IS HOW IS CAN LOOK IN SUMMER. I WAS ACTUALLY THERE LAST WEEK AND IT WAS STILL FROZEN EXCEPT FOR RIGHT UP NEXT TO THE BANK. MY GOSH IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL.

 

LET ME JUST SAY...I WILL BE GOING BACK, AND I WOULD LOVE TO GO IN WINTER.  MAN, TO SEE THAT MUCH SNOW WOULD SEND ME RIGHT OVER THE EDGE :)  I'M IN S. TEXAS.  NO SNOW FOR ME.

 

I GUESS I REALLY NEED TO POST SOME PICS FROM MY HOME STATE...AS WE REALLY DO HAVE SOME BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES AND WILDFLOWERS :)

Fluter, the Canadian Rockies are my #1 favorite place on Earth! I used to go there every summer with my family and I miss it so much. Thanks for the great reminder.

Hi Fluter,

 

It wasn't scary at all!  I was with a friend and we were able to stay on some trails through the woods, so never felt lost.  The snow was falling so heavily you could hear it---I guess from the big flakes bumping into each other.  I fell a few times when I'd stepped into super deep snow and just laughed like a little kid.  It was so much fun!  Another day I snowshoed across the lake to the back where there I found the frozen waterfall, but the rest of the trip I skied.  I'd love to go back too!  Hope we both get that opportunity... 

 

I've been fortunate to have a good friend living in the Methow Valley out in Washington (not far below Canada), and I visit her every summer. We've done some wonderful hikes in the mountains, and have also spent time in the San Juan Islands.  I need to post pictures from some of those trips.  My little profile picture is of balanced rocks that we saw along the trail on the Maple Loop Pass in the North Cascades last summer.  It amazes me that people can lift and balance rocks like that.  It seemed to be a good representation of me right now---precariously balanced, but standing :)

 

I like this thread---it brings nice things to mind!  :smitten:

I came across this and laughed when I saw the eye poke! Yep. That's what was goin on last year when I firs joined! I was talking TRUTH  JUSTICE and THE UNIVERSE (yobi, we never figured it out!!!) and yous wuz pokin and jokin! :)
