I was interested to hear Keith Richards in some interview describe writing Satisfaction.

As far as I could decipher, Keith was talking about working on the song alone in a hotel room one night. He had an amplifier and his guitar, but no loudspeakers. So he somehow plugged his amp into the little clock radio by his bed. The speaker was so overloaded, his licks came out sounding all distorted like they do and he liked it. So did I!

It was an ah-ha for me because ever since I first heard Satisfaction, riding my bike one summer night with my transistor radio hanging from my motorcycle handlebars, I couldn't decide if that was a guitar or a sax!

Here's a Stones tribute to what they would call one of the original Rock & Roll songs.

hahaha UTC, i did the same thing with the radio. only it was on the handlebars of my Schwin Stingray.....yeah, Keith has told quite a few stories on that riff. one was that he dreamt about it, woke up-wrote it down, then had no recollection of it all the next morning. who really knows? probably not even Keith.  ;D

You are all some hard core rockers.

I liked the classic rock from mid 60's early 70's.

Led Zeppelin---The Lemon Song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zyhu2ysqKGk

Jimi Hendrix---Foxy Lady---https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SXVOkJTSTs&list=RD2SXVOkJTSTs

Jimi Hendrix---All Along The Watchtower  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJV81mdj1ic

Cream---Crossroads

Jethro Tull---Living In The Past  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbiHf3fpkXo

The Doors---When The Music's Over

These are some of the songs I liked.

i guess i'm getting old groove. all this new rock sounds the same to me. i'm turning into my father. i remember one time he was 'sleeping one off.' i was blasting grand funk on the 'hi-fi.' it woke him up. he stumbled out and asked me, 'what the hell is the name of THAT song? all that shit sounds the same to me.' even as a 14 year old i was always joking. i answered, 'it's called 'wake up your father,'....pop.'.....

Thanks for the memories! I saw The Velvet Underground live in Boston, 1968. What a show...half the audience was wrecked on something, people barfing all over, passing out. The band was excellent, though. Ahhh....to be a young hippie again!

LOL...I remember getting told similar things BJ. I love my classic rock, but i have always stayed current due to playing live music.

I refused to only play in bands that covered classic rock, there are just too many of them out there fighting for gigs.

Its hard to make a living at it unless your in an A level band. Casino level or of course higher. I made more money plaing in a Pop, RnB band playing dance music then i ever did in any Rock band i ever played in. Its just easier to get gigs and private parties.

People wanna dance. In my sig, i have a link to one of my bands. Im singing and playing drums.

Its a cheap recording done quickly.
