I lived in SF from around 1983-1986. I had a great apartment right near the corner of California and Fillmore Sts. and worked (cooking) in North Beach at a place called Cafe Americain (on Columbus @ Broadway, right where Little Joe's used to be). I have fond memories of those times (for the most part).

My childhood home - a Scottish castle, 

 

We lived in just the single storey wing  :'(

 

My parents worked for the multi millionaire owners who spent 10 weeks a year in Scotland. This was their holiday home.

 

Great place to grow up.

 

No wonder I am used to my own company!!

 

Never met the  resident ghost.

I used to work at the Grand Canyon.
