Let's Share Photos of Amazing Things & Places We've Seen

[gi...]

Recommended Posts

Let's share our favorite pictures from trips we've taken! Peaceful places, art shots, nature shots, places... anything that puts a smile on your face and will likely bring a smile to ours!  Please add a description and/or pleasant memory associated with the shots.

I'll start.

Mooselookmeguntic Lake, Maine:  I spent a few family summer vacations here. One of my "soul places."

Start an account at photobucket.com (it's free) and download your photos there.  Once that's done, under each photo you'll see a list of formats. Click and highlight the .jpg one and copy it, and then come back on here and paste it.  If it doesn't insert here then the picture is too big. If that's the case, you need to go back into your original and make it a smaller format and then download that one into photobucket.

I hope this helps; looking forward to seeing your pics!

Hmm. I have a jpg. I tried, one that's seems pretty small, but it won't post in "Post Reply" section. Where do I paste it and how? When you say "paste" it, what do you mean? Do you mean go with the "insert image" button in the "Post Reply" section? I'm seeing some large photos pasted (I'm pretty sure mine's smaller), but I can't seem to paste anything. Do you have to go through Photobucket first? Or can I just paste it from the desktop of my Mac?

Go thru photobucket first. Download it to their site. Once it's downloaded you'll see it on the bottom of the screen. Below it is a list of 4, maybe 5 formats.  Highlight the one that's a .jpg (the whole thing) and copy it. Then come in here, hit reply, and place your cursor in the blank page and hit paste. If it's too big it won't paste.  If that's the case, go back to your original picture on your computer, shrink it, and try it all over again.

I think I'm telling you right!! I hope it works!

You might have to leave the thread and then go back into it to see if it's there.  My benzo brain only allows me to keep this kind of information only so long! :-)

Thanks, Roberta. The area is amazing! There are literally thousands of castles. The one in the bottom picture is privately owned . . . imagine! Many that are privately owned are in the same families for centuries now. Sometimes these owners aren't necessarily "rich," and they have a hard time with upkeep (and think of the heating bills). I hope you're doing well.

He's 20 (gosh, I feel old)!!!!! Tell your daughter thanks. I could see myself going crazy with this picture thread. I've got some great Turkey (the country, not the bird) pictures, but I need to scan them. Okay, here's one of Nolan at 16 with our cat, Fang. I did a painting of this one (now I'll stop with the family photos!!!!)

My daughter is 16 (almost 17.) She is the youngest of four. My others are 24, 22 and 20 (almost 21.) I don't know how that happened since I'm only claim to be 28.

A young thing like you???? Wow. Well I've always thought that young moms can make some of the best moms (no offense to any moms of any age, mind you).

Matteo, I'm so glad you got your pictures up!  And they are so beautiful! What wonderful shots. Do you live in Europe?

I'm looking forward to seeing your shots of Turkey.  I have a friend who's from there. I love that part of the world.

BTW your son is gorgeous!

Hi Ginger. Thanks!!!! Sorry it's taken me sooo long to get back to you with thanks for your super-kind words!!

No, I live in Berkeley, California, home of the crazies.

Thanks, too, for your compliments to my son; I happen to be massively proud of him (as you can probably tell).

P.S. I'll get those Turkey pics up soon!

I lived in SF from around 1983-1986. I had a great apartment right near the corner of California and Fillmore Sts. and worked (cooking) in North Beach at a place called Cafe Americain (on Columbus @ Broadway, right where Little Joe's used to be). I have fond memories of those times (for the most part).
