for those who like movie soundtracks while they study/work/whatever, I've found the 'Strangers Things season 1 soundtrack' oddly moving and soothing to listen to today while at work. Its turned my anxiety right down. Makes me feel really safe and at peace for some reason.

Sorry dear abcd for my musical vent on your thread. I somehow find it the most "friendly". With all due respect to all the other threads. Damn, Sid is in the video in "Songfacts". Cannot stand looking at him. Gone so young and in such tragic circumstances... I think he was only allowed to play "Bodies" on Sex Pistols only record. But was later overdubbed by Steve Jones.

One of the best solos in the history of rock music. This is a Bob Dylan’s (1967) cover. Here what’s Dylan had to say about it: "It overwhelmed me, really. He had such talent, he could find things inside a song and vigorously develop them. He found things that other people wouldn’t think of finding in there. He probably improved upon it by the spaces he was using. I took licence from the song with his version, actually, and continue to do it to this day. Hendrix and Noel Redding also clashed, and the bassist, angered by what he saw by Jimi’s obsessive quest for perfection, bolted from the studio midway through the session. Mason took over the bass in Redding’s absence, but Hendrix ultimately overdubbed the part himself, using a small custom bass guitar. [...]

 

After the basic rhythm tracks were finally completed to Jimi’s satisfaction, he turned his attention to the song’s four distinct solo sections, each of which were recorded separately.
