"Rescue Me" - Eurielle

All alone inside

All alone each night

All alone I'd cry

Thinking of you

Close my eyes and see

Close my eyes to sleep

Close my eyes to escape

From this madness

[CHORUS:]

Towers rise with souls in their walls

The people cries for someone

Will you rescue me, you can set me free

Will you break these chains

Stop me falling

Will you rescue me, give me air to breathe

Help these eyes to see

Will you come and rescue me

Every time I wait

Every hour I fade

Every corner I turn

Looking for you

In my heart I know

In my head I hope

In my body I cope

Waiting for you

[CHORUS]

Will you rescue me

You can set me free

Will you break these chains

Stop me falling

(x2)

Will you rescue me

Give me air to breathe

Help these eyes to see

Will you come and rescue me

"The Caged Bird Sings" - Lamb

A man caught a tiny bird

Pretty as can be

Brought her home and caged her

So only he could see

He loved her and he praised her

And then he clipped her wings

Wondered at her beauty

As she began to sing

Release me

Set me free

But slowly he got frightened

She'd lost her precious glow

He prayed and he pondered

But couldn't let her go

She tried her best to tell him

In every way she knew

Till heaven took her body

And off her spirit flew

Release me

Set me free

And I'll bring you more

Bring you more, bring you more

Joy than you can see

Suddenly the sky

Was filled with flying birds

Her song was sung by all of them

And finally he heard

Release me

Set me free

And I'll bring you more

Bring you more, bring you more

Joy than you can see

"Both Sides Now" - Sammy Hagar

There's another side to everything

Connected like the ring around your finger

And I know this like I know myself

Not very well yet I'm no stranger

But it won't be long

I see both sides now

When nothing's gained then something's lost

Pay half the price at twice the cost

We're crystallized, we stand alone

Conviction holds us like a stone, oh yeah

But I know it won't be long

Cause I see both sides now

[CHORUS]

Yeah, we got to learn how to listen

Before we learn to talk

We got to learn to crawl

Before we learn to walk

And if you want a little peace

Sometimes you got to fight

We got to walk through the darkness

Oh, before we stand in the light, oh yeah

But I know it won't be long

I see both sides now

We're always somewhere in between

We never taste the sweet extreme

And we're crystallized, we stand alone

Conviction holds us like a stone

I know it won't be long

I see both sides now

[CHORUS]

(x2)

Both sides now, both sides now

Come on, both sides now

Oh baby come on

Both sides now

Both sides now

"Music is Healing" - Florida Georgia Line

Tears on my six string

Another angel gone leaving you all alone

Dealing with your demons

I know you're laying there wondering

If your prayers ever make it through the ceiling too

Yeah I know what you going through

[CHORUS:]

If I could write the perfect song

Make a little right out of all the wrongs

Would you close your eyes, would you let it in

Would you light your candle against the wind

If I could sing the perfect words and change the world

Unhurt the hurt that we're all feeling, stop the bleeding

You've got to believe in love is the answer

And music is healing

And there's a lot of souls

Looking for the high road everybody's needing

Maybe just a little simple melody

Is all we need to keep our broken hearts beating true

And get the whole world in tune

[CHORUS]

Yeah I know in my heart of hearts

That we are where we're supposed to be

And everybody's got to start

So we can live in harmony, yeah

Your song is playing

It's gonna save you

When you're laying there wondering

If your prayers ever make it through the ceiling too

Yeah I know what you going through

If I could write the perfect song

Make a little right out of all the wrongs

Would you close your eyes, would you let it in

Would you light your candle against the wind

If I could sing the perfect words and change the world

Unhurt the hurt that we're all feeling, stop the bleeding

You've got to believe in love is the answer

And music is healing

Love is the answer and music is healing

You gotta believe in

Love is the answer and music is healing

Bets and Estee, thanks for the contributions.  Hadn't heard the Motley Crue one before, great tune!  I'm amazed at the background knowledge you gals have on all these artists, I've never really got into the people behind the music that deeply, just enjoyed their music.  There are lots of auto/biographies I would love to read though.  Someday.

Thanks again, hope everyone's doing okay.

Always a pleasure, abcd. I’m getting the background knowledge chiefly by reading “Artistfacts” in “Songfacts”. There are few guitar players/bands I know a thing or two about, that’s all. Have a nice week

"We Are Believers" - Amy Sky

yT7vytS4.jpg

Once there was a time

I was afraid of the darkness

Thoughts, phantoms that filled my mind

Were just the shadows, the few left behind

Then I saw the light in your eyes

Like the morning sky

You and I

We are believers guided by love

Heads held high

We are believers

And this world belongs to the believers

Don't think of a time

Faith made a fool of our sweet dreams

Just look to the sky again

Hoping that one day we'll know what it means

With you at my side

We can love as far as the heart can see

You and I

We are believers guided by love

Heads held high

We are believers

And this world belongs to the believers

We'll carry on

We don't say die

We keep the fire alive

You and I

We are believers guided by love

:-*

Heads held high

We are believers

And this world belongs to the believers

We'll carry on

We are believers guided by love

Heads held high

We are believers

And this world belongs to the believers

We'll carry on

Nothing is Easy by Jethro Tull

Great one, Dana, hadn't heard it before, thanks for sharing.  Am adding the link and lyrics. :smitten:

Thanks so much for posting the lyrics. I should have done that. I also don't know how to upload you-tube videos. There are so many songs that I love! Music is good for the Soul!

"Nothing Is Easy" - Jethro Tull

Nothing is easy

Though time gets you worrying

My friend, it's okay

Just take your life easy

And stop all that hurrying

Be happy my way

When tension starts mounting

And you've lost count

Of the pennies you've missed

Just try hard and see

Why they're not worrying me

They're last on my list

Nothing's easy

Nothing is easy

You'll find that the squeeze

Won't turn out so bad

Your fingers may freeze

Worse things happen at sea

There's good times to be had

So if you're alone

And you're down to the bone

Just give us a play

You'll smile in a while

And discover that

I'll get you happy my way

Nothing's easy

" Remember Who I Was"

James Arthur

"Remember Who I Was"

I know I hurt you, I was so unkind

I was ungrateful, I wasted your time

But I was young and lost, so lost

See, you took this poor boy and changed his whole life

Granted his wishes and dreams overnight

And I saw stars, they shot me down

But I deserved it, they knocked me out

I'm just waking up now, in the tears of the one's I love

It's quiet, I'll bet that everybody thinks I'm done

I need to get up now, I've been down here far too long

Two years I've been lost, now I remember who I was

Who I was, who I was

I am the one who beat me black and blue

No one can hurt all your feelings like you

Whoa, I know it, or validate

See, if you're a misfit and feel out of place

Or you don't like how you look, it's okay

'Cause someone will, but you need to love yourself

Don't end up like me, don't end up like me

I'm just waking up now, in the tears of the one's I love

It's quiet, I'll bet that everybody thinks I'm done

I need to get up now, I've been down here for too long

Two years I've been lost, now I remember who I was

Who I was, who I was (I've been down here for too...)

Who I was, who I was

" Train Wreck"

James Arthur

"Train Wreck"

Laying in the silence

Waiting for the sirens

Signs, any signs I'm alive still

I don't wanna lose it

But I'm not getting through this

Hey, should I pray, should I fray

To myself, to a god

To a saviour who can...

Unbreak the broken

Unsay these spoken words

Find hope in the hopeless

Pull me out the train wreck

Unburn the ashes

Unchain the reactions

I'm not ready to die, not yet

Pull me out the train wreck

Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out

Pull me out, pull me out

Underneath our bad blood

We still got a sanctum

Home, still at home, still at home, yeah

It's not too late to build it back

'Cause a one in a million chance

Is still a chance, still a chance

And I would take those odds

Unbreak the broken

Unsay these spoken words

Find hope in the hopeless

Pull me out the train wreck

Unburn the ashes

Unchain the reactions

I'm not ready to die, not yet

Pull me out the train wreck

Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out

Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out

You can say what you like 'cause see I would die for you

I'm down on my knees and I need you to be my god

Be my help, be a saviour who can

Unbreak the broken

Unsay these reckless words

Find hope in the hopeless

Pull me out the train wreck

Unburn the ashes

Unchain the reactions

I'm not ready to die, not yet

Pull me out the train wreck

Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out

Pull me out, pull me out, pull me out

" Sweet Architect"

Emeli Sande

"Sweet Architect"

Oh sweet architect

My bones are heavy and my soul's a mess

Can't find my address

Build me up, build me up

Oh sweet architect

I've been lonely since the day you left

So come find my address

Build me up, build me up

Say we've got deep love, but it's a deeper ocean

Dear god help us keep floating

Some choke, and some panic

See some got a boat, but most haven't

Oh dear heaven, you know we're tryin' make it

But dear heaven, you know it's complicated

Got deep love, but it's a, a deeper ocean

We got deep love

Oh sweet architect

My bones are heavy and my soul's a mess

We can't find my address

Build me up, build me up

Oh sweet architect

I've been lonely since the day you left

Come find my address

Build me up, build me up

Yeah we're still here and we're still breathing

Knee deep with the deep needing

We stay brave though we've, been damaged

See most got a heart, but some savaged

Oh dear heaven, I hope you're up to something

Cause dear heaven, this just can't be for nothing

We're still here and we're, we're still breathing

Yeah we're, we're still here

Oh sweet architect

My bones are heavy and my soul's a mess

Come find my address

Build me up, build me up

Oh sweet architect

I've been lonely since the day you left

Come find my address

Build me up, build me up

Build me up, build me up

Build me up, build me up

Build me up, build me up

Build me up, build me up

Build me up, build me up

Build me up, build me up

Build me up, build me up

Build me up, build me up

Oh sweet architect

My bones are heavy and my soul's a mess

Come find my address

Build me up, build me up

Oh sweet architect

I've been lonely since the day you left

Come find my address

Build me up, build me up

" We'll Be Fine"

Rebecca Ferguson

https://youtu.be/Olhzpqcf-u0

"We'll Be Fine"

When you're lonely

Don't be afraid, I'll keep your heart close to mine

Lay safely in my arms

Lay safely in my arms

When you're falling

No you won't stay down

'Cause I will hold you

Lay safely in my arms

Lay safely in my arms

When you feel you've had enough

From this world that's giving up on you

On you

When you feel you've had enough

From this world that's giving up don't you

Don't you

Sometimes we get lost walking through the fire

And when it all turns to dust

We'll watch the ashes light up and we'll rise

We'll rise

And we'll be fine

(yeah we'll be, yeah we'll be)

(yeah we'll be, yeah we'll be)

And we'll be fine

(yeah we'll be, yeah we'll be)

(yeah we'll be, yeah we'll be)

You'll find peace

As the sun falls on you

Cry victory

With your head held high

When you feel you've had enough

From this world that's giving up on you

On you

When you feel you've had enough

From this world that's giving up don't you

Don't you

Sometimes we get lost walking through the fire

And when it all turns to dust

We'll watch the ashes light up and we'll rise

We'll rise

And we'll be fine

(yeah we'll be, yeah we'll be)

(yeah we'll be, yeah we'll be)

And we'll be fine

(yeah we'll be, yeah we'll be)

(yeah we'll be, yeah we'll be)

Oh, we'll be fine

And we'll be fine

And we'll be fine

And we'll be fine

And we'll be fine

Just gotta try

You gotta try

And we'll be fine

And we'll be fine

And we'll be fine

(and we'll be, and we'll be)

(and we'll be, and we'll be)

And we'll be fine

(and we'll be, and we'll be)

(and we'll be, and we'll be)

We'll rise

And we'll be fine (yeah, we'll be)

We'll be fine (yeah, we'll be)

Yeah, we'll be fine (yeah, we'll be, yeah we'll be)

And we'll be fine (yeah, we'll be)

Yeah, we'll be fine (yeah, we'll be)

Oh, we'll be fine (yeah we'll be, yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll be)

The Rolling Stones “Under My Thumb” (1966): Music & Lyrics

Not an anti-feminist song, IMO. Rather accurately describes a certain type of

man I’m not fond of... Anyway, lyrics are open to interpretation.

Enjoy this wonderful rock classic, written by Keith Richards and Mick Jagger.

Featuring awesome fuzz bass lines by Bill Wyman.

And marimba riffs by the late Brian Jones (1942-1969).

"She Won't Let Me Fly Away" - John Denver

Well, I wake up late in the afternoon

I eat my eggs with the evening news

And the sun's gone down before I find my shoes

Music fills the air but it's all the blues

She won't let me fly away

She won't let me fly away

Well, we got no heat and the window's broke

The storm rains came, everything got soaked

And there's no bread left, nothing here to smoke

And the Lord looks down saying, "Can't you take a joke?"

She won't let me fly away

She won't let me fly away

The palm tree's just a picture on a postcard

The ocean's just a memory in my dream

And a man comes on the TV selling soapsuds

To dirty up my rivers and my streams

Like a mystery movie without an end

When you think it's over it just begins

It's not always true that the good guy wins

I've been down so long that I got the bends

She won't let me fly away

She won't let me fly away

She won't let me fly away

She won't let me fly away

She won't let me fly away

"Keep Falling" - Fink

Wanna know what I’m thinking

Why I can’t sleep at night

Wanna know what I’m drinking

A double of anything’s fine

Cause I’m alright now

Cause I’m alright, I’m alright

Wanna know what it feels like

To be so far from home

I’ve been on the wrong side, baby

For so long

That it feels right now

And it feels right, it feels right

Keep falling

Until you can’t fall no more

Until you feel like you’ve been falling for way too long

Then you will know about me, baby

You’ll know about me

Then you will know about me

Then you will know

Wanna know where we’re heading

When we all get kicked out

You see you're carefully treading

On the fire I already put out

That’s alright now, that’s alright

Yeah that’s alright

Wanna know where it's going

Well I guess that depends

Meet me back at the start

Back at the part where we know how it ends

It ends alright now, it ends alright

It ends alright

Keep falling

Until you can’t fall no more

Until you feel like you’ve been falling for way too long

Then you will know about me, baby

You’ll know about me

Then you will know about me

Then you will know about me

Then you will know, then you will know

Then you will know

Then you will know about me

Yea, it's alright, it's alright

It's alright

It's alright

This one for a very special lurker friend

You know who you are

"My Way"

Elvis Presley              The Three Tenors

And now the end is near

And so I face the final curtain

My friend, I'll say it clear

I'll state my case of which I'm certain

I've lived a life that's full

I traveled each and every highway

And more, much more than this

I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few

But then again, too few to mention

I did what I had to do

And saw it through without exemption

I planned each charted course

Each careful step along the byway

And more, much more than this

I did it my way

Yes, there were times I'm sure you knew

When I bit off more than I could chew

But through it all, when there were doubt

I ate it up and spit it out

I faced it all and I stood tall

And did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried

I've had my fill, my share of losing

And now as tears subside

I find it all so amusing

To think I did all that

And may I say, not in a shy way

Oh, no, oh, no, not me

I did it my way

For what is a man, what has he got

If not himself, then he has naught

To say the things he truly feels

And not the words of one who kneels

The record shows

I took the blows

And did it my way

Yes, it was my way

Love this song! Gives me strength and motivation.

While I feel like a wimp with all this overwhelming WD reality...

One of the most inspirational songs ever written.

Oh abcd, just “a little more than enough”, as Jimi Hendrix would say: infection, cold sore, family conflicts, hurricane, lethargy, apathy and WD... did I forget sth? Yeah, there are some uplifting tunes still able to get us back on our feet again...

Frank Sinatra “My Way” (1969): Vid

Songfacts & Lyrics

The song was originally performed by Claude Francois, then by Paul Anka. IMO, Frank Sinatra made it into a very impressive song. Though he didn’t particularly like it. He would loathe it even more, if he knew that in a 2005 Survey by a Co-Operative Funeralcare, it was one of the most requested songs at the funerals in the UK... For me, it counts among one of the most inspirational old songs. After all, we “face the final curtain” all our lives. And thus we should live one day at a time. Enjoy the present moment. And “never, never, never give up”, as Winston Churchill once put it. For only the ones who never try and fail, never have the chance to win.
