I think I've listened to this song five times today. He died way too young, but he left us some wonderful songs.

I think I've listened to this song five times today. He died way too young, but he left us some wonderful songs.

 

We always expect to be happy tomorrow. Sometimes that tomorrow never comes. I keep thinking about his life. How he overcame his difficult childhood (was fiercely beaten by his father), heroin addiction, his marriage break-up. Found himself a new love. Very inspirational guy. He certainly was a fighter.

I didn't really think that much about him -- except to know and enjoy his songs. But yesterday when I heard the news, I had to wonder why he might have died so young. On CBC Radio (Canada) this morning, there was a nice feature about him, and apparently, he was a really nice, down-to-earth guy. I hope that he had lots of good times to balance out the bad. It seemed that he  had recently decided to slow down the touring a bit so that he could enjoy his grandchild. I hope he got to do so.

Tribute to the 58 human lives lost on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 in Las Vegas.

I’m lighting a candle in my heart for all of them. I encourage you all to do the same.

Those eyes will never again shine with happiness. Those smiles are gone forever.

They will never feel the sun and wind on their faces. Will not see the Fall this year.

All I can do is to dedicate this song to my human Brothers and Sisters.

Who found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Yes, abcd. The least I could do for the victims. This human tragedy is at the back of my mind most of the time. Trying to understand the killer’s warped psyche. But in vain. Maybe it would give me some relief. Reading about it, ruminating. Not good. My husband gets over with such things very quickly. I’m a depressive type. Must check some inspirational stuff you posted. Still listening to that “Proud” song by Heather Small. Really motivates me to do stuff. Many hugs

Yes, abcd - you’re awesome I’m depressed and tend to dwell on negative stuff to make myself even more miserable. All those dead rockstars. Also, the music they made. It’s often very depressing cause it was composed and performed on drugs. Obviously, there are so many exceptions to the rule. But one has to be cautious with music.

 

When I was heavily into psych meds, benzos and barbiturates for a short time - I used to listen to Marilyn Manson only. I cannot listen to his songs anymore. They get stuck in my mind. Especially the lyrics. There were some good guitar riffs, like on “Sweet Dreams”. But those lyrics were just too much. The same goes for Nirvana. Kurt was a great guitar player and singer. But I just cannot enjoy Nirvana’s songs anymore.
