"Just Remember I Love You" - Firefall

https://youtu.be/Lt6lYiKcik8

http://giantpandaglobal.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/IMG_4505-2.jpg

When it all goes crazy and the thrill is gone

The days get rainy and the nights get long

When you get that feeling you were born to lose

Staring at your ceiling thinking of your blues

When there's so much trouble that you wanna cry

The world has crumbled and you don't know why

When your hopes are fading and they can't be found

Dreams have left you waiting, friends have let you down

Just remember I love you

And it'll be alright

Just remember I love you

More than I can say

Maybe then your blues will fade away

When you need a lover and you're down so low

You start to wonder but you never know

When it feels like sorrow is your only friend

Knowing that tomorrow you'll feel this way again

When the blues come calling at the break of dawn

Rain keeps falling but the rainbow's gone

When you feel like crying but the tears won't come

When your dreams are dying when you're on the run

Just remember I love you

And it'll be alright

Just remember I love you

More than I can say

Just remember I love you

And it'll be alright

It'll be alright

It'll be alright

It'll be alright

"Bound To Fall" - Stephen Stills (Manassas)

https://youtu.be/TdeEeWf-Cmo

Just as everything's going fine

Lose my grip and slide

Bounce the rock and catch the ball

Bound to fall

Fall, stumble and toe the line

See my face and hide

Catch the tears I've cried

From reality it seems I've strayed

Tired of all the silly games I play

Da da da da

Da da da da

From reality it seems I've strayed

Tired of all the silly games I play

Just as everything's going fine

See my life in rhyme

Hear my hand slip from the wall

Bound to fall

Fall, stumble and reaching blind

Oh, how hard I've tried

Possibly I've died

Absolutely adore Stephen Stills! What a talent! I came across this album not long ago after watching the "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" for the 500th time. Listened to the self-titled Stephen Stills album once again. So, so good.

Here's a song that talks to me:

Helplessly Hoping. CS&N

Helplessly hoping

Her harlequin hovers nearby

Awaiting a word

Gasping at glimpses

Of gentle true spirit

He runs, wishing he could fly

Only to trip at the sound of good-bye

Wordlessly watching

He waits by the window

And wonders

At the empty place inside

Heartlessly helping himself to her bad dreams

He worries

Did he hear a good-bye? Or even hello?

They are one person

They are two alone

They are three together

They are for-or each other

Stand by the stairway

You'll see something

Certain to tell you confusion has its cost

Love isn't lying

It's loose in a lady who lingers

Saying she is lost

And choking on hello

They are one person

They are two alone

They are three together

They are for-or each other

I guess that song didn't convince Judy Collins. Actually, when I was just a little bugger, I saw Buffalo Springfield with mom and John. I barely remember it. They were back up for Flip Wilson and then he threw up on the stage, so the two of them came. Only two. I don't get it. I'm pretty sure Stephen Stills was one of them because I remember that hair color. I really don't know who the other guy was, but he was taller and had dark hair. That's all I can recall. I thought there were five in all.  ??? It was a small place that held maybe 2,000 or so. Maybe less. We had front seats. I must have been 5 or so. I think one song was For What It's Worth.  And it ain't Stevie Nicks.

Omigosh! Great story! I love "For What It's Worth". Stephen Stills was so very young (and handsome!) back then. What a voice! Anyway, CSN is just the three guys, but they eventually had one of our fave Canadians, Neil Young, in there too -- CSN&Y.

Yes me too. I loved CS&N though Young was not my favorite. But my college roommate blasted his music until I was sick of him. I returned the favor by blasting Beatles songs.

Lots of CSN(Y) fans here, I see.  I posted this one some time ago, absolutely gorgeous.

This is the first song I ever heard of theirs, and still my favorite:

"Dreamer" - Jewel

"Don't wanna hear no sad songs"

I say to the darkness

But it doesn't respond

I ask if I sing a new one

Will I always sing alone

For so long I have known only sorrow

How could I fail to hear

The sound of all the sleeping hearts

The timid hopefuls

Waiting for a path to be clear

[CHORUS:]

Oh, I can hear a sweet melody beneath it all

And it says, "Brave dreamer, dream anew

"You won't always dream by yourself

"You won't dream by yourself

"Everybody's gonna sing along"

Loneliness has bit my heart

I know it's wounded your heart too

But our longing is our revolution

It's gonna bring a world anew

[CHORUS]

Is it possible

I say, "Yes, it's possible"

Is it possible

Oh, I can hear a sweet melody beneath it all

And it says, "Be brave, dreamer, dream anew

"You won't always dream by yourself

"No, you won't dream by yourself

"No, no, you won't dream by yourself

"Everybody's gonna sing along"

"Hole In My Shoe" - Traffic

I looked to the sky

Where an elephant's eye

Was looking at me

From a bubblegum tree

And all that I knew

Was the hole in my shoe

Which was letting in water

I walked through a field

That just wasn't real

With one hundred tin soldiers

That stood at my shoulders

And all that I knew

Was the hole in my shoe

Which was letting in water

(I climbed on the back of a giant albatross

Which flew through a crack in the cloud

To a place where happiness reigned all year round

And music played ever so loudly)

I started to fall

And suddenly woke

And the dew on the grass

Had soaked through my coat

And all that I knew

Was the hole in my shoe

Which was letting in water

"I'll Fly Away" - Alison Krauss

Some bright morning when this life is over

I'll fly away

To that home on God's celestial shore

I'll fly away

[CHORUS:]

I'll fly away, oh glory

I'll fly away

In the morning

When I die, Hallelujah, by and by

I'll fly away

When the shadows of this life have gone

I'll fly away

Like a bird from these prison bars I'll fly

I'll fly away

[CHORUS]

Oh, how glad and happy when we meet

I'll fly away

No more cold iron shackles on my feet

I'll fly away

[CHORUS]

(x2)

Just a few more weary days and then

I'll fly away

To a land where joys will never end

I'll fly away

I'll fly away, oh glory

I'll fly away

In the morning

When I die, Hallelujah, by and by

I'll fly away

I'll fly away

"Miracle" - Richard Marx

It's hard to see reason

When there's so little hope alive

But this is the season

To put faith in innocent eyes

We're all thinking too much

We're so out of touch

We need to start over again

So just let it wander

Cause you're never too old to pretend

[CHORUS:]

Tell you, just a little miracle

Is all you need to believe

Baby, just a little miracle

Is all you need to believe

It's not too late to wake up

Don't make no difference who you are

Just take off your make-up

And discover the child in your heart

[CHORUS]

We're all thinking too much

We're so out of touch

We need to start over again

So just let it wander

Cause you're never too old to pretend

Tell you, just a little miracle

Is all you need to believe

Baby, just a little miracle

Is all you need to believe

"Remember I Love You" - Jim Diamond

23c02eac9782be9eaefb0de6e6c0e87f--baby-pandas-panda-bears.jpg

Oh, when you feel things going wrong

Feel they're out to get you

Don't be too afraid to fall

It's just a test they've set you

It's easy giving in

The hardest part is to begin again

Remember I love you

And I will always be true

Remember I love you

And I am leaving it up to you

You see you've broken every rule

Every one worth breaking

And I, I was born to be your fool

To stop your heart from breaking

You know you've got my hand to hold on to

When they don't understand

Remember I love you

And I will always be true

Remember I love you

And I am leaving it up to you

You're giving in

When the hardest part is to begin again

And you, you see the years so quickly pass

Do you ever wonder why

This thing we have should last

Is there some spell we're under

There's only one thing to do

Reach out for me and I'll reach out to you

Remember I love you

And I will always be true

Remember I love you

And I am leaving it up to you

The Replacements - Left of The Dial

Read about your band in some local page

Didn't mention your name, didn't mention your name

Sweet Georgia breezes, safe, cool and warm

I headed up north, you headed north

On and on and on and on

What side are you on?

On and on and on and on

What side are you on?

Weary voice that's laughin', on the radio once

We sounded drunk, never made it on

Passin' through and it's late, the station started to fade

Picked another one up in the very next state

On and on and on and on

What side are you on?

On and on and on and on and...

Pretty girl keep growin' up, playin' make-up, wearin' guitar

Growin' old in a bar, ya grow old in a bar

Headed out to San Francisco, definitely not L.A.

Didn't mention your name, didn't mention your name

And if I don't see ya, in a long, long while

I'll try to find you

Left of the dial

Buffalo Tom - Crueler

It's so mean

It's crueler than your dreams

And it's worse than it seems

Add it up

And stick it in your cup

You're sure to get enough

It runneth over now

You can't complain no more

Your bones are cracking now

You'd better knuckle down

Life's so cheap

It's cheaper than it looks

You can't learn that from books

Stay in the house

Stay clear of what you fear

And you're old beyond your years

It runneth over now

You can't complain no more

Your bones are cracking now

You'd better knuckle down

You're leaving your long shadows

Leaning into space

And your hardscrabble life

Is written all over your face

Counterfeit

The bankroll that was his

Fist of change that was yours

A life so cheap

It was cheaper than it looked

You can learn that from books

It runneth over now

You can't complain no more

Your bones are cracking now

You'd better knuckle down

They'll leave you with a prayer book

And a pocket full of grace

And your hardscrabbled life

Is written all over your face

Matthew Ryan - Suffer No More

Candy looks down

She says I don't know what to do

I swallowed every word

But none of it was true

And every cut

And every wound

And every prayer

In every room

This time's too hard

And the end couldn't come too soon

Don't wanna suffer no more

Don't wanna suffer no more

Tommy stood there

With a giant tear in his eye

To break down or complain

Well he really wasn't the type

He never read a book by Marx

But he knew by now the end was tied to the start

Don't wanna suffer no more

And all we want today

Is something like a fair shake

And all we want tomorrow

Is a ladder that won't fall away

Or be thrown away

Don't wanna suffer no more

Don't wanna suffer no more

Don't wanna suffer no more

Red House Painters - Songs for a Blue Guitar

When everything we felt failed

And some music soft in distant sails

But it don't sound like it did before

Then I know I'm left with nothing more

Than my own soul

When pretty pictues face back

But your coats aren't hanging on the rack

And blue water turns to

A place that I can't get to

A place that I can't

In a room all I feel

Is the cold that you left

Through the air all I see

Is your face full of blame

What's left to see

What's there to see

In the room all I feel

Is the cold that you left

Through the air all I see

Is your face full of blame

What's left to see

What's there to see

What's left to see
