I don't think the lyrics are that relevant. It's about struggling with the loss of one's father, but can be applied to any struggle.

 

It's the outcry of "release me" that's cathartic for anyone who loves this song.

 

It's not actually 9 minutes, but is followed by some silence and then a so-called "secret track". You might remember that was a bit of a trend in the early '90s. They'd always kinda spook me when listening to a new cassette.
