Experiences with gabapentein?

Hey guys

 

I was about to give up on taper AGAIN, for a third time.  omg, I cant give up again, its been 4 yrs just trying to taper.

 

So I decided to try gabapentin, worked wondets for my friend.

 

Just wondering your experiences? Seems to be working for me I feel much better all ready, ready to keep tapering again.

My pdoc told me that anti-seizure meds (like Gabapentin) help some people to come off of benzos but don't help others.  I did try Gabapentin, but had horrible results.  I threw up 10 times in 20 hours (after taking it for 4 days) and ended up in the ER.  It was about a week before I could eat solid food again.

 

At any rate, not everyone reacts as severely as I did.  Hope your experience is a pleasant one.

hmmm, interesting,  ya my doc told me with gabapentin people will have very different results.  So far don't feel like puking.

 

So i'll see how it goes

My doctor put me on it in rehab 5 months ago. I just tried to taper off if it too fast and anxiety hit me in week 2. I am now slowing down and trying to get stable again. I have had anxiety, insomnia, night sweats and panic attacks. Please be careful.

I agree, do a search about gabapentin, there are probably hundreds of posts in the forum about that.

 

Be aware that you will need to taper off gabapentin when the time comes.

I am so thankful I took the gama drug. Today was the worst of all my detox and I was so afraid and desperate. I had it in my purse and was so worried about taking it. I am afraid of everything pill wise. It made me feel strange like my head was a block of wood and my head stopped up, but it took that terrible feeling of hellish w/d awwwwaaayyyyy. Hi,

I was give Gabapentein but since I research everything now I have learned from here that is the same as taking Klonopin ; (  I did not take this after having it filled.  Is my Doc just trying to kill me? I want off all this mess. Then you have to up the dose and do a taper to get off of it. It works on your kidneys as well. This is info I have learned about on here. It is just not for me ~ I will you well.

Gabapentin is NOT a benzodiazepine.  I have taken it since my c/t, and find it helps with anxiety.  I have cut my dosage in half over the last couple of months with no problems.  I urge you to talk to your doctor about this medication.
