[no...]
Just reinstated benzos: I took 2mg of Xanax this morning at around 2:00AM. At mid morning I saw my Psych doc and he started me on 1mg of Clonazepam 4 times a day. So far I've taken 2mg of Clonazepam today. I'll take the other 2mg tonight before I go to sleep. I'm supposed to hold at this dosage for 2 weeks. Then I was told to begin slowly tapering down. I woke up this morning after having taking Xanax last night, for the first time in almost a month, and I felt great! All my w/d symptoms are completely gone. Is this normal? [Be...]
From the information in your signature block, it looks like you have gone back to your starting dose so it's not surprising that you feel so good. I can't help but wonder why the doctor is increasing your overall benzo-load by 2mg/day clonozepam. If you feel good at 2mg/day Xanax + 2mg/day Clono., do you really need so much more benzo? You might want to check with your doctor before you take the additional doses.
[He...]
I would agree with Beeper and tread carefully there nobeni, I know you want off the beast, don't want a more difficult taper than is neccesary by jumping further ahead than is neccesary. Really pleased to hear you are feeling so well however,
[pr...]
Not everyone is as lucky as you. Sometimes when people reinstate after a CT or too-fast taper their symptoms don't go away. But overall when someone is having withdrawal symptoms from a drug and then they start taking the drug again, the symptoms do go away. That's pretty much how addiction works. I agree, take no more than you need to to feel okay, and stabilize, and then start a slow managed taper.
[Pu...]
Good to hear the you're stable. It's a good starting point for a taper, imho. However, you seem to be on a dose higher than the initial one, so it makes sense that you're feeling well because you may be in that temporary 'honeymoon' period that accompanies a dose increase. Always follow your doctors advice, but be wary of taking a higher dose for very long. It may further complicate the problem in the long run. [no...]
Thanks for all your input and advice. I scaled back to 2mg of Clonazepam yesterday. No Xanax since my initial 2mg dose the day I reinstated. Happy Easter to everyone out there! May God bless all of us. Take care
