Changing Thyroid in Withdrawal (Buddies with Thyroid Problems)

[Fr...]

Recommended Posts

I have hypo thyroid but noticed in withdrawal that I've had to reduce my medication the last two times I was tested. I've just had more blood work and I'm sure that my thyroid levels have gone under again as I'm very sluggish and tired.

Has anybody else with a thyroid problem noticed this in withdrawal.? I'm on a natural thyroid medication.

Frannie, I am having thyroid issues but different from you.  I have nodules on my thyroid and need a biopsy.  I have felt like my thyroid has been "off' for a long time but could not get the Dr's to acknowledge it until the nodules showed up.  I did realize after I found the nodules that I was not getting any iodine in my diet.  It was not in my salt.  Ran out and bought cheap table salt for now with iodine in it and I swore it took some of the discomfort away but my Dr I saw today just thought that was not even worth discussing.  Anything thyroid is of interst to me.  Hope your thyroid stabilizes soon.

I tried going off my thyroid med (with the approval of my endo), but I had to reinstate the Levoxyl about 10 days later.  I am scheduled to go back in about 6 weeks and have my TSH retested.  I am on 50 mcg. of Levoxyl, by the way.

Also, On The Mend is very knowledgeable about thyroid issues.  If he sees this thread, perhaps he can jump in here.  He has helped me several times before.

Wishing you well ...

Thank You Flutterbye for your input. My thyroid problems, I'm quite certain have been caused by the ADs I've been on. It seems to fluctuate greatly when I'm in WD.
