[Ga...]
This is a new symptom. Kicked in a few days back. I'm 4 months out. My mood has been low for a long time but I've never felt like this. Prior to taking benzos I was a little hard on myself, had some low self-esteem at times, that is all. Throughout this withdrawal I have eaten fairly well and exercised. I don't understand why now this is happening. Is this normal? Does it pass? Thanks a lot
[Ha...]
I'm feeling the same way. I've never felt depression like this before. It's like I can't shake it off, it enters into every thought and every moment, and I don't have the energy or ability to find any enjoyment in anything I do. It seems to have gotten stronger as my physical symptoms have become less severe. I hope it will pass.
Guest [vi...]
you have to look back hard and remember if you had depression/anxiety before starting benzos. if i were you, i'd wait a few weeks for it to pass. if it didn't or if it intensified, i'd seek medical help. 4 months off is a long time but still, it is not unusual for people to experience depression so late (going by posts here). [Ca...]
I also posted this morning about depression. I've been 4 months 1 week off. When I first got off the anxiety was paramount. As that subsided depression set in. Both have not yet left me although they normally are getting gradually better. Out of the blue on Monday both have gotten considerably worse again. This is hard but we have to believe what everyone on this site says. IT WILL PASS! I know it's unbelievably hard some weeks/months/days/whatever. We will get through this. Hang in there. [NY...]
Thanks a lot From what you state on your post, you really didn't suffer with this type of depression before benzo wd, so I would bet the depression you are experiencing right now is wd related. So many other BB have also experienced this. It is probably your receptors trying to achieve balance again. Hope this helps, NYClady
[Ga...]
Thanks guys. It comes and goes. I am being especially hard on myself which I wasn't doing before. I am basically just very tired of this process and not knowing how I'll be from one day to the next. I accept it is withdrawal caused and keep trying to distract while I wait for this wave to pass. Good luck to all of you in your recoveries.
