[no...]
I understand (now) that I tapered down too quickly (6 weeks) but I've been benzo free for almost a month now. Why should I reinstate benzo's just b/c I'm having a terrible time in withdrawal?
[He...]
Nobeni - unless you are having seizures, which can be life threatening I believe, I do not think you should reinstate. Perhaps someone with more experience may be able to advise better than I, but from my understanding reinstating does not neccessarily help avoid symptoms after cutting, and you are clean for a month, I would love to be in that position! I had a terrible time cutting out 66% of what I was taking in four weeks last year, and I reinstated by doubling up to only a cut of 33% (6mg to 2mg back to 4mg) Went through hell for months and months, and looking back I do not believe there would have been that much of a difference if I had stayed at 2mg. So, in my limited experience I would say stay put. You are clean, that's huge in my book. You have to be healing, regardless of how you feel you are no longer poisoning yourself. Makes me sick to keep putting the poison in my mouth every night when I feel like this. It's like hitting myself in the head with a great big sledgehammer Very best of luck to you, I hope your symptoms pass quickly and you heal fully and go on to really enjoy the rest of your life. [ja...]
Hi nobeni.. See if this helps alittle. Reason reinstatement can be a good idea for some is.. Doing a Rapid taper or a C/T can leave us with a Lengthen amount of time we suffer withdrawl.Sxs become Severe and the Shock our brain goes through is Extreme.Reinstatement can elevate that Shock and allow for the person to slowly taper off and sxs be a bit more Tolerable and you be more Functionable. I believe C/T and rapid detox off this meds is a very Hard road to walk. I did a C/T and it was by far the most Disturbing and Debilitating experience Ever. But should you stick it out.. You will HEAL. Its just what you may have to go through to get there is very Hard. As hard as it gets keep your mind kicking in the rt direction. You will get back to being yourself Fully.I am now. It took 15 months. But I am fully myself again ~Jenny

[os...]
7 years use and a 6 week taper, i know what i would do. Heal as you go down in dose without the trauma, i agree with Jaso... i really do... in this case... i would not say it for everyone but a 6 week taper is way too fast in my opinion. [Sa...]
Although many on this site believe that the best and fastest method is a long taper (I'm not refuting that), I thought the c/t worked best for my personal circumstances. I didn't like taking bits and pieces of pills for months, and I just found it easier to quick cold turkey. The big question is will you suffer longer if you c/t compared to a taper. I've seen many people on this site recover from a c/t just as quickly compared to someone who did a slow taper (although there is a larger risk for protracted withdrawal doing a c/t). I just couldn't stand the Idea of having to take the drug 6 months- 1 year longer to finally come off of it. It's up to you though what would work best. If you've been off already for a month I would urge you to keep the course and remain strong. Good luck -Sam
