[So...]
Hi everyone - hope I'm doing this right....I've been wanting to get on this blog (mainly to hear others are having the same nightmare.)!...After a very bad opiate (mainly percocet n vicodin) & it was so bad that I shouldn't have lived through it. I had a very bad overdose n ended up on the hospital. I'm a 29 year old female, (27 at that time), and the Drs that read my results from tests they didn't believer it was MY chart....2 of them said in all their yrs they never saw results that bad from someone alive. ...Anyway, I recuparated fine from that, went on Suboxone, but I never felt like it did anything 4 me..(I know almost all of u that's taken Suboxone thinks I'm nuts & yes, I was taking enough.... Started with 8mg a day, then went down to 2... It really didn't affect me. Anyway, stopped Suboxone after few months, but RIGHT after he prescribed me Suboxone, he offered me Xanas for anxiety I was feeling. (STUPID Dr. And he should NOT be practicing!)... I had NO clue what I was in for. (I ended up switching Dr's right away because he was just horrible in every aspect!!) I can't remember how much I started with... Maybe 1mg a day? ...Anyway, after 2 years I got up to 6mg per day and trying ( kind of) to taper off so I'm now having him write me 4mg a day for past several months. ...If you actually read this all, then u prob know the HELL that benzos are. My memory is SO bad i can never remember to take them!! ...I'm going to guess I take 3mg/day and like 2 1mg Klonopins each day + Wellbutrin. I feel like crap ALL the time. I am like a diff person. It's Hell on earth ,,,, I could go on and on about the side effects, but this is really long already!! I feel like I'm dying over here.

[sh...]
Hi SoHard2GetThru, Welcome to BenzoBuddies! I'm so sorry you're in such a terrible state. It seems you've got a lot on your plate but you're willing to better yourself by getting off Xanax and that's what matters. Please remember, the symptoms you're feeling are likely due from tolerance, withdrawal, or both. Have you talked with your doctor about getting off Xanax? It might better you to speak with him before furthering along, just to get anything ruled out that might not be withdrawal related. He might even be really supportive and help you through this process. Just to clarify-- are you taking Xanax and Klonopin? I know it seems really scary right now but, you will get through this. We have a lot of members who went through some horrible experiences but, they're much better and getting on with their lives. Let us know if you have any questions. I'm glad you found us

[Ga...]
SoHard2GetThru, Hello and welcome. I'm pretty new to benzobuddies myself, but I can tell you that in my short time here, I've already received incredible support and knowledge from some caring folks who know what withdrawal is all about. I'm also coming off of 6mg of Xanax a day. I was on for about 2 years, starting at 2mg and working my way up. Unfortunately I wasn't familiar with proper tapering protocols, so I went to a treatment center where I was given a rapid detox. The first month was pretty brutal, but I've made a few improvements already. Have you heard of the Ashton Technique? Dr. Heather Ashton is the authority on benzo withdrawal. The tapering program she devised is widely considered the best way to safely come off of benzos. It also should decrease the withdrawal symptoms. Having done a rapid detox, I personally don't have experience with it, but many on this site do. You can also find the info you need here: http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/bzcha02.htm Check it out and come back to the group here with any questions or concerns. Take care
