A question about %s

Hi, I was wondering if someone could explain to me what buddies have written, they say if you taper by  1 ml from 100ml each day, which I am doing, your % of cut gets bigger with the smaller doses, I just do not get it , I am sure someone out there can explain it simply to me, my brain is healing but sometimes I feel so dumb. In one week I will be at half my dose of Temazepam, my other question is, when I am at half my dose and am taking 50ml out of the 100ml of water with the 30 mg of temaz in it, can I put that 50 ml in the fridge instead of discarding it and then the next day draw off 1 ml from it , that way I am not wasting 1/2 a pill, is this the way to do it? thanks buddies  Ladygrace

1ml of 100ml is 1%. 1ml of 25ml is 4%. Does that make sense?

Yes. That's correct.

Is this why it is supposed to get harder the lower you go?

Your cuts will get larger and larger as you go, which could result in more symptoms..but not always. In terms of titration you can slow your taper down so that you're not cutting 1% a day. Perhaps only 1% every other day.

Thank you Hope for your reply, I am not sure yet that I really do "get it" Could you give me the %s  starting at say 25 mls, I really am too dense right now to figure it out. Sorry to be a bother here,  At what point does it start to get hard? I know everyone is different and I shouldnt expect it will but if I start to notice things happening I will certainly hold or cut every second day like you suggested, trial and error I guess, I will just keep plodding along. It's not that hard to work out. All it would be is; 1 ml divided by your current dosage multiply by 100. So for example; 1 divided by 25 x 100= 4%

Then you would 1 divided by 24 x 100 = 4.16%...etc..and so on.

You're right. Everyone's different. Generally people will start feeling symptoms at around 10% or beyond.

I hope that helps.

LadyG, try to think about it this way:

Day 1- 1 ml removed from your 100 mls = 1% (1 divided by 100 = 0.0100)

Now you have 99 mls

Day 2- 2 mls removed from your 99 mls = 2.02% (2 divided by 99 = 0.0202)

Now you have 98 mls

Day 3- 3 mls removed from you 98 mls = 3.06% (3 divided by 99 = 0.0306)

And So On

So you see how removing 1 ml per day is not the same as removing 1% per day.  But if I were you I would not worry too much, when you cut this way you may have to hold only a day or so, and then resume.

Well not to worry, I couldn't figure it out anyway so I am just going to keep going, I did manage to wrap my brain around the idea that when I get down to the last 2 mls and take out one that is a 50% cut, that's about all I can figure out for now, I tell you I never used to be this challenged in math or writing or spelling, but hopefully the benzo fog will lift at some point and I can at least figure out simple maths again, thanks for you input  , if you say it was wrong I will just have to take your word  for it, couldn't prove it by me Ladygrace

I had the right idea but it lies deep and I totally botched it.  And today I am in wd, so I can't even attempt to correct myself.  But trust me, the idea was to show you how yes, the percent of cut does edge up, but very slowly at first and is nothing to be afraid of.  Do be afraid of missing a dose, that's what I did today!  But that is evidence of how good (relatively) I've been feeling on the 1 ml/day reduction plan.
