direct taper from ativan??

Has anybody done a direct taper from ativan?? I really want to not switch to anything but it seems lots of.people switch!! Has antbody done it right through? Thanks for your replies!!

I felt the same way, Chance, and tapered directly off lorazepam (Ativan) after nearly 20 years use.  I was on 3mg/day and it took me about 6 months.  I think another good method is titration so I decided to dry cut as far as I could go and then switch to titration at the end if needed.  I never ended up switching but that's always an option.

I did a direct taper, I water tapered and was successful.

5 months benzo free and feeling great.

Thanks beepper and hope4u2 was it worse the closer to the end you got?? I am going to have to look into the water thing?? I have a taper plan and i will be jumping at 0.025 once a day do you think this can work basically i will be doing a 5%decrease once a week if i can handle it and it will take me 18 more weeks  i am down to o.4 three times a day!!!
