What Were Your Worst Months?

[Ho...]

Recommended Posts

I'm just approaching month 5 and things seem to be jumping all over the place. This has been such a long hard process that I can't tell if I'm getting better or worse than before.

Can people chime in and let me know what the worst months were for them after they jumped or c/t'd.

Months 2-4 were by far the worst. Since then it has gotten progressively better but it was no cakewalk. 5 months is still early but lots of people turn a corner around that time. Try not to get discouraged....you are healing.

Mths 3-5 were by far the worst. I just passed 6 mths and have noticed a nice improvement in my baseline...lots of people say they began to feel better at 6 mths.  While I do feel better I'm by no means out of the woods here as the Past 3 days have been pretty nasty with symps jumping all over the place. One minute Im so anxious that I'm a real Richard to everyone then 5 mins later I'm the life of the party  Oh we'll...at least I know healing is happening. Best of luck to you.  Stay connected on this board...there are many caring/compassionate people here that will help get you past those rough spots.

not for me... 3-5 were not worse than the beginning...

for ME, nothing ever got as bad as the first 3 months...

after that, I had bad months ...month 8, and now at month 12, but NEVER EVER as bad as acute withdrawal like in the beginning.

I'm almost at 8 months out from my c/t.  Here are the months in order from WORST to BEST that I have experienced: 2, 3, 1, 4, 6, 5, and 7.  I might could switch 6, and 4 around, but I think that's right.

Looking back, I think this was the case for me, too. June was awful. (Took emergency doses of K.) I quit Xanax May 4th.

Had big-time struggles in June/July/August.  Though, April (pre-jump) was arguably worse!  I didn't know I was in tolerance at such a

tiny dose. Was probably down to .125 per day for a very long time. Too long, now that I look back. My psych was smart enough to figure out

that this awful "flu" thing I had wasn't the flu at all, but WD setting in early.

I had big waves the first 4 months.  Around 5-6 months, the overall baseline got better. Had it much better until March (9 or 10 months depending on

how you do the math) and then March 1st got hit with my biggest wave since the early days. It's still not AS bad as the early days, but quite a challenge.

I was convinced I was pretty much done with the major effects of WD.  Now I know that I have a little ways to go. But, I'm hoping this might be some

kind of "extinction burst"... where I really ramp up to a better baseline after this passes.

It's so cliche', but this really is so random... it does no good to try to make predictions. But, I think it does soothe us all to know that we're not alone in having

whatever experience we're having.

August, I know you're a short-term/short dose'er too... remind me again of your anxiety pre/post benzo?

Hey Bryan!

How's that head cold doing? You should be doing much better by now, no?

anxiety pre-benzo, was present, I'm pretty high-strung, had a little OCD and worried alot, but that's not why I was put on benzos... I was put on benzos for nerve pain

anxiety post benzo: is not like anything I have ever experienced before..it's just not humane, I didn't know that anxiety like this even existed...

Right now at month 5.  But, I am also in tolerance withdrawal with progesterone and estrogen.  It is the worst hell I have experienced yet.

Hockey Boy hey, HI!  we are about the same time off.  I found I was surfing the waves daily and not in a good way for the first 3 months.  I found month 4 has shown me a normal day, at least 2-3 times a week.  I even slept 8 hours last night, the first time in 5 months!  I am having a lot of emotional out bursts and tears the past 2 weeks, but also periods of feeling normal with more energy.  I am hoping month 5 and 6 will be better for us!  I hope to keep up with with your progress!

Hey August,

The cold went away... but the wave stayed. Now, I feel a little sniffly again. Tired, and more sick feeling. Not sure if I'm catching another cold... or if the other one

just hung around a bit.  This wave has been about 3 weeks. Very long for me, but I think it very well may have had to do with the cold being involved.

Which... takes us  back onto the topic a bit, I think which month is worse can be HIGHLY dependent on what else is going on in your body/life.

I wonder if I would have even seen this wave if not for the cold coming into play... or, if the cold ramped it back up.  Anyway, I'm functional. This isn't like it was

in tolerence or a couple months out. Awful, but I'm managing. I fully expect to be to a better baseline when this passes. I was doing much better for several months.

Stay positive, everyone. Try not to set up expectations. Just float down the river of healing.

Sounds EXACTLY like me... was doing better for a few months...

my "trigger" for this wave was not a cold, but the operation I had ... with 1 time dose of multiple meds coming into play...

Been in a bad wave for 3 weeks- very long for me.... hadn't been hit this hard in months... like you, not as hard as in the beginning, but still very hard... I'm waiting it out hoping to get back to baseline soon...

Who knows if I we would have had these waves without this other "stuff" in our lives...

Another thing, EVERY time I read your posts you have something positive and encouraging to say, even if you're suffering at the time.  I don't know how you do it? But, hats off to you  :smitten:

I think I'm kind of an anomoly.  Every month has been bad, with the exception of around month #5, where I was nearly preparing to write my success story!  With all of the horribleness, though, I've had windows throughout. Even had one full week where I felt 100% normal and thought it was all over.  So incredibly weird, not to mention the difficulty in wondering if I'm even getting anywhere at all  :-\
