I have just returned from the doctor feeilng like crap.  As those of you who know me last year i suffered a nervous breakdown as such due to a reaction from a blood pressure medication.  it tipped me over the edge.  i was then given zyprexa and serequel which made me feel worse i couldnt stop crying for fear of going mad.  Then in october after a five day stay in hospital where i thought i was going to die from reactions to zyprexa and serequel like internal burning severe agitation etc i signed myself out and went to the local hospital.  Here i was give 4mg of xanax and yet another antidepressant.  was told to go c/t was horrendous and even though i started taking it again i was a state cried for weeks and weeks went into hospital and they gave me an antidepressant which made me feel so sick in the head and in january this year put me on 45mg of valium and took the xanax away.  In 18 days i went to 2.5mg in 18 days.    long story i know but today my doctor said i have ocd which i did before but now i have ptsd and a personality disorder thats what he thinks withdrawal is.  he said he would give a new born baby 2.5 of valium its nothing to get off.  no wonder i have ptsd.  but i dont think personality disorder is necessary when i have been through so much.  maybe im just a weak person looks like most people can come off 45mg of val in 18 days and are ok.  so who do i believe is this withdrawal or personality disorder.

 

i feel sick it cant be anything else but.  interested to know what people think

I don't know anyone who has come off of Valium (45 mg.) in 18 days.  You are definitely not weak.  There are just a lot of uneducated people out there when it comes to benzos.

 

At any rate, I hope you get stable and can get a proper taper plan in place.

Ten weeks is still very early.  Personally, I don't see how you came down that fast and handled it.  That is remarkable.  You may, however, want to hold for a while, since you are on such a low dose and are having issues.  Just remember, you are in control of your own body and the best taper is the one that works for you.

This was posted to me earlier in another thread. Have a look and then take it to your doctor.

 

Not saying you don't have things to sort out, but these meds leave a trail behind them. You need time and caring people to help you take this slowly and let your body heal.

im in Australia are you its from the benzo site i think in Melbourne Australia they have a proper facility there to help people with a free phone service.  Bryan im not disputing the fact that i had an anxiety disorder before i certainly agree but definately not a personality disorder.  I will take this to him they just dont believe anything.  In hospital the shrink said he does it all the time with no problems.  my argument is that people are all different and i have a very sensitive nervous system.

cant ever hear enough from you.  you know about reconnextion in melbourne they have a free service to call anywhere in australia monday to friday 9 to 5.  was a woman there i talked to last week she spent five months in hospital in a severe state and is now fine.  had seizures and everything.

Nobody can be dx'ed with a psych disorder while in benzo withdrawal!  We ALL appear to have MULTIPLE personality disorders, along

Lizzy, I think of you often as I know you are having a really rough time of it.  You have been through a lot, taken off way too quickly!  Nice thing abut this forum, we don't even have to know each other but because we all have this Benzo thing in common we can comfort and be there for each other- we can understand like no one else!  Praying for you to have better weeks to come!

I know he just doesnt get it at all.  Everytime a mention the word withdrawal he says ahh baby dose was 45mg in january a baby dose.  anyway not to worry im not alone i have you guys but as far as the medical profession goes i give up.  thanks for all your lovely words its a comfort to get up this morning and read them.

Angel thankyou it is really tough but im tough to thats what im thinking im going to beat this one day and i know that i have validation on this forum.  that i did come off fast and i should not be better by now its only been ten weeks and im still trying to come of the last 2.5 so i dont think i should be feeling great at the moment. thanks for thinking of me we are all lucky to have this forum.

 

hey Candy ill let you diagnose me you would have a better clue than some of these clowns and oh by the way he thinks the forums are crap full of people he said who could write anything.  im like seriously a lot of these people  on the forums are professional people with careers etc or stay at home mums or really just anyone they are not clowns buddy.

hey Vertigo no he said 2.5 is a baby dose that im on now he thinks its not big deal to get off said he would give it to a baby.  I was just saying does he think 45mg of valium is a baby dose as well.  hey im doing better than what i was i can say that.  But noone would feel great in 10 weeks since their very rapid 18 day taper would they???
