[sa...]
I have been on Temazapam for a little over a week and am already having interdose withdrawals. I didn't mean to even take it this long as I've been through withdrawals before and never wanted to go through it again. But without it I will not sleep at all and I become suicidally depressed, something I was just recently hospitalized for. The T makes me feel sick, but I feel sicker off of it. So....if I'm already having withdrawals I assume that means I need to taper, but I'm sure the doctor will taper me too quickly just like happened 3 years ago with Xanax. I don't want to get sicker. Would it be worth it to cross over to valium? And would I need to go as slow as the Ashton protocol after such short term use? I don't know what to do, but I can't be sicker. I've been sick with anxiety, insomnia, exhaustion and depression already for months now. My body can't handle much more.
[Be...]
Not being able to sleep makes everything worse imo. I am in a patch of not sleeping well myself and it really sucks. I'm not sure I understand why you want to get off the temazepam if you feel sicker off it. Are you planning on replacing it with something else? Personally, I don't see a reason to take the time to cross to Valium for purposes of tapering after taking T. for just a week but maybe you wouldn't get the interdose withdrawals if you were on Valium instead. Maybe this is something you could discuss with your doctor.

[pr...]
Your case is not going to be the same as someone who just took a drug without any other history, because of your chaotic recent history with psych drugs (all those other drugs you tried and stopped) and your past history with Xanax. I think it's going to take some time for things to settle down. I'm not very familiar with temazepam but from reading the pharmacokinetics it looks like you'd need to dose two to four times a day to maintain steady state concentrations (to avoid interdose withdrawal). If you can do that comfortably and you aren't experiencing any toxic side effects from the medication itself, I think, given your chaotic recent history, it might be better to stay the course rather than switch to Valium. I'd also consider either holding for a couple of months to stabilize more, or making a much slower taper than you're doing. Again, this is because you're not typical of someone who just started taking temazepam only, and had no prior benzo or psych drug history. You're recovering from ALL of it, plus your Xanax experience has sensitized your CNS to benzo withdrawal. Just my two cents based on what I've seen with other folks.
