[On...]
Hi guys!!! Just wondering does everyone get post acute withdrawl when they arwe done with their taper??? And is is really alot worse then the withdrawls from tapering? Scared of this whole process and just want to kinda know whats coming? Thanks dor your reply I think most everyone gets some sort of "post" withdrawal either from reduction taper or, while they are tapering and after their last dose too. Just as it is for a cold turkey quit. The intensity or how "acute" various between person to person, the amount and how long the drug was taken, as well as the length of taper and the incremental cuts vs. cold turkey. That said, I think very few people are symptom-less with the withdrawals after ceasing or decreasing benzodiazepines once they having taken benzodiazepines for any real length of time (three weeks and more). On The Mend
[Ch...]
Thanks onthemend!! Do you think it will be considerably less because i am doing a slow taper?? Or should i just rush it to get it over with because i will get withdrawls at the end? Guess slow will at least keep me comfy... I am not sure how you did it cold turkey i hope you are well! I would taper as you have been if I were in your position now that I know what I know. You could still get some withdrawals, but little can be done about that. Just know that if you do they will pass and that they are part of the healing process. I went cold turkey, because I didn't know my dose was high enough that it would cause withdrawals. I thought 5 mg. of Valium was a low dose, but I had been using one tablet almost daily on and off for 16 years during vertigo attacks caused by Meniere's disease(inner ear disorder). In hindsight, I now know that I used to get much more minor withdrawal symptoms between attacks and heavier usage periods, but I chalked them up to anxiety attacks and other pains. [gi...]
Hi, I experienced the worst of my withdrawl symptoms at the end of my taper. I was terrified that it would get worse when I jumped off but it did not. Yes, I had symptoms for a very long time but it was different then it was with tapering and getting slammed each time I cut. I think this might be the advantage of tapering. Take care, Ginia
