Morning anxiety and cortisol levels??

[Iw...]

Recommended Posts

ok I see that the blood sugar drops while im asleep and adrenaline goes up during sleep. For some reason i cant figure this one out. I wake up and feel ok i do feel a bit sweaty at times, and i do wake up a couple times in the morning and go right back to sleep for another hour or so. When i do wake up i eat my breakfast, thats the first thing i do. Then from breakfast to lunch i still feel that morning anxiety and adrenaline. Then is when i start to feel a bit nauseated, and i have anxiety. Get some mental confusion and almost sent in to a panic attack if i dont eat my LUNCH in time or basically just a couple hours after my breakfast?? i dont understand it at all. its like even if im sort of full i have to eat my lunch  basically 2 hours after i eat breakfast even if im feeling nauseated just to avoid going thru a panic attack?? why is that?? Should i try n eat a snack when i wake up and then my breakfast?? or eat my breakfast and then a snack?? should i exercise after breakfast to drain the adrenaline??Any Advice??

I have had the same thing today and i´m still on 3.6mg Valium... really annoyed that this has started again, if i were drug free i´d cope better but this anxiety is horrible... i feel for you, i can only assume you´ll heal more seeing as you are off.

May seem stupid to ask but was your anxiety worse when tapering?

i think i solved my own problem lol  instead of eating my lunch after my breakfast i just ate an apple n it made me feel better till i ate lunch NORMALLY, lets see if the same is tomorrow. Oscar thats not a stupid question my anxiety was horrible from 5mg under till bout 1 month n half out, its gotten a lot better these past couple weeks. First month is rough though. Hang in there.

Get used to it. You cant control your diurnal endocrine system

Ugh, do i have to???  ;)

Mornings are pants... can´t i sell my endocrine system on eBay? I no longer want it.  :tickedoff:

The basic rhythms/patterns will stay the same, but they won't be sympyomatic when you are out of w/d, because they won't be as amplified.

I have some organs that I don't want either. Also have a few that I'd like to trade in for different models.

oh ok that makes sense to me.  however when i had that morning stuff i could easily go into a panic but it was a panic about nothing everything just seemed to build up and then i was off my nut.

obviously healing is taking place somehow.  its just a time thing im sure.

I heard that strawberries are supposed to help with cortisol, also other fruits.

Google strawberries and cortisol, but remember to avoid grapefruit and other non benzo friendly fruits. (I heard cranberry detoxes you too fast)

The avoiding Grapefruit thing is definitely right. I forget why.

Some people say that high doses of vitamin C supports proper adrenal function. I can't vouch for it. If you read about "adrenal exhaustion", I think that is BS also. The best way to avoid that adrenaline cortisol anxiety/insomnia is to taper slow and not mix in needless stimulants ( starting ssri's/snri's during w/d is a no no, I can definitely vouch for that). I require a cup of coffee in the morning. it gives me a 2 hour minor wave, but it is a trade off for the headache that is sure to follow if I don't drink it.

Hi

Grapefruit juice, among other things has a chemical in it that potentiates benzos among other drugs. This can affect the taper as the person is getting more benzo than they think.

Cortisol works to wake you up, same as melatonin helps you sleep.  They are both two sides of the diurnal-cycle coin.  I have been taking melatonin for sleep, but after reading some of the things on this thread I may cut my dose.  I have terrible morning anxiety and restlessness and I wonder if this is from a cortisone "jolt" that I am inducing through taking too much melatonin the night before.
