[oz...]
Hi everyone. I am new here, and really need some help. In brief, I was at a high of 6-7mgs ativan per day, crossed to valium and am now down to 4.5mgs. A month ago I was down to 4.12mgs, but began having seizures which worsened so much that I finally had to updose. I am now about two weeks into the updose, and already the seizures are starting again. I was making tiny daily cuts of 1/100 of a mg, and even at that rate I continued to worsen. I can't go on like this much longer, and don't know what to do at this point. Any advice would be appreciated....

[bl...]
By seizures, you mean grand mal seizures where you lose consciousness? That's very serious and requires immediate medical attention. The previous poster is right. Go to the doctor (or ER) immediately.

[Ho...]
ozlady, I echo what our members have suggested. Please seek medical treatment. Seizures are very serious. Your doctor needs to know about them. This may or may not have anything to do with your taper. Either way, you need to be evaluated by a doctor. [oz...]
I went to the ER twice. The first time the doc gave me some phenobarbitol and told me to cut my benzo dose by half. The second time I was given nothing (was offered more benzos) and had alot of test run, but everything was negative. An EEG was not done, however. I do not lost consciousness during these, but get a heavy brain-fog afterwards. Will try to see my doctor tomorrow. Thanks everyone.

Take care.
[Ho...]
Glosarti, This forum is for those who are having trouble tapering from benzos. There are going to be those who are having a hard time and need support. That necessitates posting the facts. Sometimes they make others anxious but it's important that our members know any potential problems that may be ahead for them. It's also important that our members feel free to post their fears and/or symptoms...even the frightening ones. Hope
