Please help me with a titration plan!

I would like tostart a titration program to get of dalmane (flurazepam) which is at 15 mg per capsule. Can you suggest a taper program for 4 weeks and dosages for this type of duration?

I'm not familiar with this particular medication, sleeplessinny but generally our members use a 100 ml cylinder and pull out 1 ml a day (cut 1% per day).

Do you need to taper off within 30 days because of a lack of medication or is this just your wish?  Tapering off in 30 days is faster than we'd recommend but that doesn't mean it isn't doable.  Are you going to be using a 100ml cylinder or something else?

Beeper - the 30 days is my desire. I need my life to get back to normal and I am determined but we don't know how to go about it and the doctor doesn't know either. You asked about 100 ml cylinder. What do you mean? Do you mean to dissolve a pill into liquid and then use 100 ml cylinder as measurement to enable the taper. These pills come in 15 mg capsules that come apart and have powder in them. Other people have talked about scales, cylinder's and we just don't know what anyone means. Any help is so needed and appreciated.

Hi, tapering off a capsule is very duable, my capsule of temazepam  is 30mg so I just take it apart and pour the powder into 100ml of water, mix it wel,l  I am taking out 1 ml per day with a baby syringe from the drugstore  and if I need to I have held my dose a couple of days, just listening to my body tells me when to hold the dose, its a nice slow taper for me, we are here to support you, Ladygrace

I think LadyGrace has explained it very well but taking out just 1ml/day (from a 100ml cylinder or measuring cup) will take 100 days to finish the taper.  You could try removing 3ml the first day, 6ml the 2nd day, 9ml the 3rd day and so on, and you would get a taper close to the 30 days you want.

Thank you everyone, you have been so helpful and I am extremely grateful. I am doing pretty good, starting tapering today and plan on getting it done in 30 days. I can do this!

I'm so glad tis is making sense now.    With your resolve, I have no doubt you can do this but I hope you will listen to your body and if it rebels too much at your rapid taper, slow it down a bit.  Good luck and let us know how you are doing from time to time.
