Struggling

Hello, I was on 1-1.5 mg a day Ativan for about 7 months for anxiety which later turned out to be gallbladder and digestive issues.  Was having interdose withdrawals and the doc wanted to up my dosage! I said "no way" and tried to taper, but didn't have a clue about what I was doing and tapered way too fast.  About 3 weeks, although it's hard to remember.  I took my last dose around the end of June 2011.  Having many issues still with Ativan recovery on top of the original digestive issues.  I'm just trying to make sense of all this, if there is any.

Glad you've found this site.  Lots of support, help and reassurance here.  What are your symptoms now?  If you add a signature (a history) it will help people to help you.

Welcome to Benzo Buddies!! There are so many kind and caring people here willing to give help and encouragement to others going through withdrawal.

 

I'm so sorry about your misdiagnosis, I am an example of that as well. Yes, you did do a rapid taper from a strong benzo.  That being said, everyone does heal in time.  I also jumped off in June 2011 and although I still have symptoms I am doing so much better these days.

 

It is difficult to make sense of this journey.  Just know you are not alone in this and you will heal.
