Slow taper and cannot function

I was at 4.5mg Valium and tapering slow and have been hit so hard that I am basically bedridden.  My arms and legs are so weak, burning in my head, numbness.  I am panicking because of what is happening to me.  My throat feels like its closing. I cannot even think straight all of a sudden!! How can I go on like this?

Do you have a doctor helping you with your taper?

 

This process is very difficult and scary at times. 

 

It might be a good idea to get checked out by your doctor if you think it might be anything other than withdrawal even if it`s just for peace of mind.

I agree with mmgc (especially if your throat seems to be closing).  With something like, that you don't want to wait and see if it gets better.  I would have it checked out (if for no other reason than to reassure yourself that nothing is wrong).

It can really help to hold Jen, have you tried that? I find even doing a slow taper daily that holds are necessary. I get that throat thing too, i feel like i have something in my throat sometimes and i wheeze at night but that´s smoking also...

 

Keep hydrated and try holding for awhile and if no improvement see your Dr... although you could see him/her sooner...

 

I think we all struggle at times no matter how slow we go... hang in there, this sucks at times doesn´t it?

I actually just had the throat sensations a few weeks ago. Not fun, but they left.

 

Now I'm suffering from achy back and sore muscles. I have large windows though which is fantastic. You will get there. =)

My throat feeling comes and goes just like the burning senstions and numbness.  I hope mine leaves like yours cnotr.
