[Si...]
Hi I am 47yrs young, and have suffered 3 episodes of major depression/anxiety. I used to take Soroxat. which worked wonders for years. My last episode was horrendous, and I was in bits, as a result I was prescribed diazipam & antidepressants. Any way this was 3 years ago, and although things have greatly improved. I still feel some anxiety and depression, I have tried to reduce diazipam I managed to reduce from 20mg to 10mg daily, but can't seem to drop Any further, without painful withdrawl. I have no intention of ever coming of my antidepressants, as each time I have I relapsed within months. Thanks

[pi...]
Hello Side FX, Welcome to benzo Buddies, there are so many kind and caring people here willing to answer questions about tapering from diazepam. Do you have a doctor on board helping with your taper? How quickly did you taper from 20 mg to 10 mg? General guidelines suggest cutting no more tan 10% every 7 to 14 days. Others have reduced even less to make it easier on their systems. Slow and steady wins the race. Here is a link to the General Taper Board for further information: http://www.benzobuddies.org/forum/index.php?board=56.0 I tapered from diazepam and I know that withdrawal can be so tough and rough, but it is definitely doable. Please feel free to ask questions. pianogirl
