Irritability

[em...]

Recommended Posts

About three weeks ago I tapered from 1.5 mg klonopin to 1.25 mg, and I have been so irritable, even angry.  I've been told this is common, but I feel like I need to wear a sign to warn people.

I'm trying to find a dr to prescribe .25 mg tablets so I can taper more slowly the next time.

I've been on Klonopin or Xanax since 1987.  Is it better for me to keep plowing through the taper on a fixed schedule and get it over with, or to take my time and go very slowly?

It seems slow and steady wins the race when it comes to benzo tapering.  It is suggested to hold after each cut until you feel stable and ready to make another cut.  The recommended rate of taper is 5 % to 10% every 10 to 14 days.  Many find that they need to take it slower than this to keep things manageable.

You may wish to consider titration or compounded klonopin to allow for smaller cuts.
