[Al...]
Hi Messdupstairs, Welcome to BB. You are not going crazy. These are symptoms that many here have also suffered. My heart rate was high for a few months and the "morning rush" was unbearable to say the least. I no longer wake up in a panicked state throughout the night. I still tell myself, "there is no need to panic, you are safe, you are not in any danger"...that is just my way of trying to retrain my brain. Mornings are still tough but becoming more tolerable. If you go to "withdrawal and recovery support" on this forum you will find this is a common thread. Good luck.
[pi...]
messedupstairs, What you are feeling, although terrible and scary, is very normal for withdrawal. I hated the times I woke during the night with those feelings. What I started to doing was deep breathing exercises; breathe in for 3 counts, hold it, and breathe out for 6 counts. The good news is that it will go away. As mentioned by Alexa, these feelings won't hurt you. Just give it time and your cns will recover. pianogirl
Guest [...]
hello messedup i can completely and fully understand what you are feeling. In the early hours of the morning i get the worst surges of adrenaline and then when i get up intense anxiety which takes most of the morning to settle down and then i just feel weird for the whole day. Im sure its all part of the withdrawal its got to be or we are all in trouble. Im here for you to chat with we all are here for you. sometimes it just helps knowing others are feeling the same way. Is your anxiety bad? Lizzy

Guest [de...]
MU Our adrenal glands produce excess cortisol and adrenaline during w/d. Thsi can manifest as sudden awakening/night terrors, aofetn associated with an auditory hallucination such as a crashing sound, or a form of insomnia where just as you are drifting off to sleep, you are "surged" awake. Whatever you are having, it is common, temporary and maybe a sign that your taper need a break. Can't promise you that you are not going crazy, but your described symptoms are not evidence of it.
