[an...]
I just want to ask if anyone on here, was on benzos long term 14+years or so and had a cold turkey wd,or close to it,and made a full recovery, and how were u at 34 months off? My mind is playing some tricks on me and makin me feel like I am the only one that's sick this far out,and I am one of the very few that won,t heal. I really wonder what I,m doing wrong,I know I am still takin some non benzo meds like tegretol and remeron, but I don,t think that has anything to do with healin in my opinion and in some others opinion. I have 2 prns that I use ocassionally, atarax and seroquel, only as needed,so what could be the problem? The reason I am still on these is becouse I have been on them for many many years now,way be4 wd hit,and my wd was so severe that I had to be on something or else I would have died! I felt better over a year ago then I do now! Angel
[pa...]
Hi - I was on a benzodiazepam for 17 years as needed for chronic vertigo. I reached tolerance November 2009, but I didn't realize it until July 2010. I tapered off over 6 weeks - way too fast I now realize - and took my last one August 21. I have gotten rid of most of my symptoms - light and sound sensitivity, teeth pain, rashes, mild anxiety, insomnia, GI problems, and so on, but I have one lingering symptom, prickly burning skin accompanied by feeling extremely hot. For the first year after withdrawal I could not get warm. Actually the burning part of my skin /nerve problem has gotten better, but not the prickling. I have gotten my old energy back and generally feel very good. It's only when my nerves begin prickling that I am aware that I'm not fully healed. Since I seem to slowly be making progress I can only hope that one day this will all be gone. What are your remaining symptoms? [an...]
Hi I was on K for 8 years at a high dose. I will have 2 years off in 2 days and I feel just like you. I have all the symptoms you have and am worse then last summer. The worse thing is the heavy numb weak legs that make me feel like I can,t walk far or even stand long. Everything gets tight, numb, tingling which in turn makes me very lightheaded and dizzy. My tinnitis is quiet one day then blasting the next like a swarm of logust. This all starts when I get up and continues all day. It has almost put my life on hold again. Don't you feel like it is something else but nobody can find what it is. Also my bp went up again especially in the am. Healing to you Angel
[Je...]
I will be 24 months off in April and still go through some severe waves. Not as many symptoms that I had in the beginning but a few bothersome ones that still linger. The worst for me now is the nerve pain. Same as you all describe but also with sharp shooting pains as well. I also have muscle twitches, bouts of nausea, vertigo, headaches, and joint pain on and off. I have pretty much resigned to the fact that I will not put a time limit on my healing anymore because it's always such a disappointment. I will just heal when I heal and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. It's in Gods hands and honestly there's no place I would rather it be. Prayers for all of you.. [Me...]
check these stories out. I really think you will be able to relate to a lot of them. On this site I found most recover between 6-18 months, which is great for them, but it leaves others feeling hopless. On the this other site the stories seem to be selected from severe cases and average seems to be 2-4 years. hope this helps, and gives you that HOPE http://www.benzo.org.uk/stories.htm
[Ca...]
My signature gives my benzo history. I stopped taking rescue doses a year ago and I feel like I haven't made any improvement since then.
