[wy...]
I am a member of a facebook group for people recovering, and I just have to vent because of the ignorance of one of the other members. This person had the gall to post what (I gather) was intended to be a helpful message to the other members of the group saying when you're in recovery not to go on other drugs etc (which I completely agree with) but then goes on to say that we need to keep in mind why people got on this drug to begin with and how withdrawal sx (on a taper plan) is far rarer than we think and how the problem might be an underlying condition. Yeah, cause that's just what people who are suffering with bewilderment and fear at this experience need to hear. That it's an underlying problem that was just waiting to pop out. It couldn't POSSIBLY be that these drugs messed with our bodies and minds so much that we now are paying the consequence. :tickedoff: I mean, seriously?? Crack a book. Thousands of people aren't all just making this stuff up. And I would venture to guess there are thousands more out there who don't even truly know why they are suffering. Needless to say, I read that person the riot act.

[re...]
I was put on klonopin for panic attacks NOT: bone pain, tingling, insomnia, sheer terror, burning skin, bottom of feet pain, twitching, muscle spasms, tinnitus, crushing fatigue, dp/dr, obsessive thoughts, smell sensitivity, depression, inability to read the mail, mingle with people, focus on a task, etc etc etc. I had panic. I was anxious. I was not bedridden, sick and in pain. If I could go back I would NEVER swallow a benzo.
[wy...]
EXACTLY recovering. Exactly. I can't believe this person had the gall to say this. And they are in recovery too! I just keep going back to what Ashton says and Bliss Johns. That what a person needs most in this recovery period is to be BELIEVED and consoled while they learn to cope with the trauma that has happened to their body. That's all I want most days. Someone to acknowledge this is real.
