[Bi...]
How long until we eat what we want? I got a Cheeseburger and Milkshake today, and it ripped my stomach up. I have been eating Chinese and other foods. I know it makes my stomach worse to a point, but the cheeseburger got me. What types of food do you guys eat? What stomach symptoms you have? Mine is this pressure and a real sick feeling. Thanks, Billy.
[fi...]
I'm wondering if you may be lactose-intolerant. I stopped dairy several years ago because of digestive issues and now I drink rice milk. At any rate, just a thought. Other than that, I eat pretty much what I want to. Hope things improve for you. Stomach issues/cramps were one of the worst w/d sxs I had until I slowed down my taper. Wishing you well ... fg
[St...]
Billy my stomach bothered me for a few months after I quit benzos. I just stuck to bland foods like plain chicken, salmon, turkey, grains, and lots of bananas. I think I lived on bananas and peanut butter very early on. You should be able to eat all your old favorites soon, but for now maybe just stick to bland stuff. There are a lot of recepters in your gut, I'm sure it will take a little time... Actually, what worked good for me too was to eat very small meals every couple hours, it's easier on the system and keeps your blood sugar stable. [Be...]
Billy, I am lactose intolerant and had IBS before benzo withdrawal, so .... ack..... my stomach issues can be pretty bad. I have bloating, cramps from gas buildup, loose stools, and yeah, a sick feeling. I've been checked out and nothing shows up, so I attribute it to a lot of things working together. I sometimes can eat whatever I want, but other times I have to go on an IBS-smart diet. I suggest you look into what that is. It has a lot to do with minimizing insoluable fiber when you have a flare up. In addition to this, you may want to try using some digestive enzyme aids before meals. That can help prevent some of the gas with IBS, so maybe it will help in this case too. I am suffering from benzo belly at the moment pretty fiercely, so I'm right there with you. I am going to try to follow my own advice above and see where that takes me. Thanks for posting this as I was about to do the very same.
