Having a bad day

Recommended Posts

I am 25 days free of alprazolam (on 0.25mg once daily for about 8 years). The withdrawal symptoms come and go. Today they are mainly with me and not wanting to go away. I have tinnitus, tight band feeling around my head and lots of nervousness. Is this sort of symptom activity normal and will it wane? I thought by now the severity of the withdrawal wouild start to taper off. Apparently not!! Please any advice would help immensely. I don't want to give in to taking some more of the devil drug. Is there anything out there, nutrionally or natural that helps with this withdrawal??

Thanks

Yes- there are so many options out there to help with these symptoms. After being on a benzo for 8 years you are doing great for only 25 days off!!! I think you will see from reading other peoples posts that there are times of "waves." You are feeling much better, and then you go back to feeling things you had felt in the beginning.  This is all normal and will pass.  Just like there were good times before, there will be good times again.  Don't give in!!!The only thing for this kind of problem is time, let the time pass, and one day you wake up and its gone.  Know in these moments that this is what you have to go through in order to get to the other side, but you will get there!  If you can remind yourself that this is part of the withdrawal, you can have a sense of calm knowing what it is and not thinking something is wrong with you.  Much much harder said than done, trust me I am two months in to my w/d and still struggling.  From what I hear it gets worse right before it gets better.:)

Much love!!!!sarah
