Benzo free for 1 year!

It is hard to believe but it has been ONE YEAR since I last had a lorazepam.  It is more incredible that I do not even consider taking one!  It is not that I am strong willed but rather it does not even appeal to me.  I think I finally recovered when I stopped "waiting" to be better.  I know it is different for everyone, but for me I think my mind really is stronger than any physical sensation.  The less I focused on the discomfort the better I became.  I was stuck for a long time searching for answers but I guess at some point I stopped searching and just accepted my reality.  Once I did that I started to get better.  Practically speaking, deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation helped me a lot, especially when I was pretty much bedridden.  To everyone still struggling:  BELIEVE that you WILL get better.

hello Dizzy,

http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n556/smrmeadow/Congratulations-2.gif  on being benzo free for one year. I'm so happy for you and very proud of you. It looks like you are making some wonderful progress. Thank you for posting about the words of encouragement for the rest of us. That was very kind of you.

I also like the deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation. Those are wonderful tools.

Love to you,
