Wellness,

I watched this.........I think the oxycontin problem is really a time bomb, as they said.

When I watched it, I felt like the problem with oxy that I didn't have with benzos is the addiction desire to take the medication. It sounded like you could get off it quickly, but then really craved it. I would like the "get off it quickly" part but really wouldn't want the huge craving!

What did you think of the program?

One thing I like this that it was not just street people, but also regular people just being prescribed and getting addicted. One thing they completely missed this the withdrawal symptoms. If there are 32,000 people addicted and have to go on methadone, why is that? Because they cannot get off, and why can they not get off? Because the withdrawal symptoms are too freaking hard. That wasn't portrayed as well, they completely missed the withdrawal symptoms.

I agree completely about the regular people. It really made you think about it being the doctors' doing for them - and also the pictures of the doctors writing the prescriptions. You hit it with the withdrawal for sure. They are really worried about lots of people going through withdrawal and don't have enough detox beds to help them. I bet there will be another show about the withdrawal symptoms. I think you are so right about missing out on that part.

Completely right.

Normal everyday respectable people are being hooked on Oxi. I was on it. I can tell you reason many become so addicted and fast is cause it feels that good. As for the withdrawls all depends . How much is being consumed daily. How its being consumed. Orally .Injected. Smoked .Or snorted. For me the w/ds were no biggi. I used it orally and not long.I have been witness to many woman in my previous Job injected Oxicontin feaning for this . I had to stop a overdose on a daily bases. Scary what this drug does and to the best of people. It doesn't discriminate. My worry is not so much the w/ds they do end quiet quickly like 7 days out of the body Done. Its the amount of beautiful people loosing there lives so abruptly and such a age before there time. And the familys that become victims as well .

Mri shows in long term use over time .the brain starts to get holes in it. Literly like swiss cheese and the loss of brain function is permanent

I took opiates for four years, detoxed in 2007. They are no joke to play around with, either, as I almost died a few times on them.
