Tapering Ativa 6 mg's a day

Can someone help with with info on how to get off of Ativan 6mg's a day. I don't know how to taper and what can i take to help keep me calm during a taper?? What can i use for sleep??? I barely sleep now. What is the best way to do it. I asked my Phyc aabout the Ashton method and he laughed...

Hi granny,its great that you are ready to come off this stuff, if you could add a signature line to let us know when you were dosing and what your goal is that would help, its best to be do it very slowly, the recommended rate is 10-% every 10 days to 2 weeks, cold turkey is not recommended, you can use a liquid taper or a dry cut method, there is lots of great help and support on this forum, others that have tapered ativan will give you advice, you can read all about tapering in that forum here, welcome Ladygrace
