[Go...]
Before I run to the doctor and have my gallbladder checked, I wanted to know if anyone out there has excessive belching. Sometimes its after a meal other times it just happens. Its not anxiety related its intestinal. Anyone else have this lovely sxs? Thanks,GG

[pi...]
Gracie, You would know if it was your gallbladder, I had stones in my bile ducts and was in extreme pain. Just keep on burping, its better than holding it in. pianogirl

[Sc...]
I thought I'd bump this up as I am now dealing w/ this excessive belching...it's something I had off/on during my taper, but lately it has been horrible. It's not all day long, and it's not always after eating. Sometimes it just seems to start for no reason whatsoever. And I don't seem to have any kind of GERD that I know of. It's just this air that feels like pressure in my chest and I have to belch...and belch and belch and belch some more. It's loud and deep. I'm sure I had it this badly at times during my taper, but like others I begin to obsess over it and think it's my gallbladder, or reflux or an ulcer. Would love any feedback from others who are close to a year out and still get this? I don't go to the doctor often, but hate to think I'm missing something that is not benzo related. hugs to all, Schatje
[Ho...]
Ive had it a lot too. I think most of mine is due to anxiety though. I didn't know until recently that swallowing air (even subconsciously) is an anxiety reaction. Then it causes belching and flatulence.

I just belched as a matter of fact!! It goes nicely with my benzo belly - which looks about 7 month prego right now. I belch so much that I don't even think about it anymore and in the rare time that we are out with people I've embarrassed myself with a loud out with it.... oh well. I know how the beast makes us think that a sx is something terminal...like Bliss says check it out if it will give you peace of mind. Do know that this and lots of other GI sx are part of this GABA recovery. How are you doing other than the belching? I wish you well Schatje. You've been at this so long and have been such a wonderful support to me and so many others here. Thank you for all that you do here on the boards.
