Blurry Vision

[bm...]

Recommended Posts

I woke from a nap with my vision miserably blurry in the very beginning of this nightmare. It has been a year off for me and my vision is still blurry. Some days are better than others. I have noticed on days where my vision is worse, other symptoms are bad as well. I hope my vision improves. I am in glasses for reading, have been for years. But I was always able to function without them (except to read!). Now I can't function without them...

My vision is still not what I would consider 100% but it is close, and far better than it was months 1-4. Blurry and very light sensitive. I had a hard time reading. The good news is that it has slowly but steadily gotten better, yours will too.

My vision changes around often. It was baffling to me and I was oddly relieved to dis over it was ro ably part of benzo withdrawel. Shortly after I began my taper I have woken up with e eye dilated and the other not. When I wink back and forth one eyes sees this lighter then other. A little scary. :o however as I get lower my vision is the same more often. My eye dr agrees meds can def affect vision.

There's a bizarre element of comfort to know that others in withdrawl are having same sxs where they didn't before. Hang in there.

Hey Jenny,

Iknow its frustrating to find out how long this is going to take but the you are wise to remember here and now. It is what it is. The upside is that at least we are closer today then yesterday and so on. It's what we have to do, there is no other choice, so we might as well find a way to get through it as comfortable as possible, you know? Don't you feel better in some ways as you come down? I'll be glad when my ears stop ringing.

I see you had some trouble with seizures, did you get that evened out? Bless your heart. This is not an easy journey, and certainly not for the faint of heart. Hope today was good for you.

thanks for the encouragement sar!  yes it does get better when i come down....i can't fathom staying on this the way things were progressing prior to tapering so even in w/d there is hope as i see my dose get smaller. i do have days that are better than others so those give me hope too.  i did have seizures and they ran a battery of tests and found lack of sleep or extreme insomnia is the trigger.  not to handy in w.d...lol...but it is workable if i go slower and get sleep.  i refuse to add anything for sleep...dear god help me...i cant imagine what id be hooked on next!  oofda!!!!!  so i have decided to go at a snails pace tapering and taper teeny amounts to avoid more drugs.  i do notice the psychological sympyomsare worse holding this long tapering  i e crying, moods, d/r, d/p, fuzzy thinking, some hallucinations when its bad,  but no seizures.  it some days feels like a no win situation but then ill have a day of pretty good so im not complaining...talk to my family and they may say different....lol...god bless them...any suggestions would be welcome as to if im doing something wrong here or could do things diff...thanks for the kind words of support....jen

Hey Jenny,

Yikes on insomnia. I can see where that could encourage a seizure. I think your taper seems reasonable, but really you are the best judge of that. You have to keep the seizures under control. I'm with you on not adding anything, but you have to weigh out everything. If you have to give a little to get rest to avoid seizures, but then come off that later, but it might be easier...then it might be worth looking into.

I guess what I'm saying is be open minded, and listen to your own body. You are your best advocate. Are you getting rest better the lower you go? Going slow if you need to is what is best. Either way, you are doing it, and that is HUGE!!

Hope this note finds you comfortable.
