Hello Glosarti,

I think it's ok to start with cutting only your morning dose. Most people tapering take the largest dose at night for sleep. Just listen to your body that is the best way to know what works for you. I only take my Valium once a day, I take it one hour before bed and it works well for me.

I hope this helps, there are many people here that can help you with a tapering schedule.

Best,

Dreamsleep

I've read that you generally want to keep your cuts even, so cutting your night dose to the equivalent of your morning dose might help or, you could combine your morning and even dose, and take those together at night. I tapered from Xanax so, it might be better to wait for others who have experience with Klonopin.

Perhaps begin cutting from your morning dose as dreamsleep recommended, that way you will be able to sleep.  I take my dose of k right before bed but everyone is different so just do what you think is in your best interest.  You are moving forward with your taper and that is admirable  :)

Best Wishes

hello Glosarti,

I am currently tapering from Klonopin by dry-name cutting. I started tapering from 1.5 mg. I was taking 0.5 mg three times per day. When I started to reduce my dose I reduced every dose reduction from the afternoon dose. That left me with taking 0.5 mg two times per day. Then I started to make dose reductions from my morning dose only. I am currently taking .0625 mg in the morning and 0.5 mg in the evening. That will leave me with taking Klonopin only one time at night as I continue to reduce my dose. I do this to help reduce the incidence of insomnia.

I take the brand Klonopin and am not sure if that makes a difference. Brand Klonopin has a half-life of 30 to 40 hours. Generic clonazepam has a half-life of 18 to 50 hours. So I do not know if someone is taking the generic that there would be inter-dose withdrawal symptoms. I know I do not have them.

Way to go on making progress with your taper.
