Well actually I am a Male 38 years, and I cold turkey AD and xanax which I was prescribed for 5 months, I am now 16 months off, and I still have bad days, so I was on the Benzowithdrawal.com forum and it closed, and I wanted to have some support for the rest of my recovery journey, I am not healed yet but on the way :)

Hi tommy1234, welcome to BenzoBuddies

I'm very sorry you're still having a hard time this far out, for some it takes a little longer to heal. What symptoms are you having still? You'll find a lot of support and understanding here. Please make yourself at home and ask questions if you have any.

Hi Tommy,

Welcome to Benzobuddies :)

Glad to read that you feel that you are on the way to healing. :)  You have been symptomatic for a long time, I'm sorry. Well done getting off the benzos and A/D.. Must have been very tough on you.. How are the symptoms now?  Can you get out and about?

I hope you begin to settle in well.  I was on another forum that closed down recently, so feel for you having to make new support buddies.. You have come to a good place. There is a nice group here and people are friendly and supportive..

Good luck!

Thank you all, you are wounderfull and understanding, well my remaining sxs are mainly Anxiety (stomach tightness and acidic), some DP/DR and vision dullness I guess from Anxiety, I am now 16 months off and 7 days :) I can feel that I am healing a lot of symptoms faded out with no return, only these, and symptoms wax and wane during the day, morning are fairly ok and midday sometimes worsen, and afternoon are much better, and I have windows and waves aswell, sometimes I forget that I am in WD, but it never last :)

Ya I go out not everyday, but it comes that I want to go out like I have the urge to go meet friends or travel and I do sometimes I go fishing with friends for 2 days, and I can still have sxs during the trip. I am soo allergic to speacial foods aswell my stomach tightness and acidity prevents me to eat a lot of food still, but it gets better somedays, that's my story, I feel I am getting better (I was a complete MESS) but the waves still annoying and discouraging, I don't have windows all day yet and it comes during the day, like it hits with no warning, that's about it am I in like can I post now or there is something I have to do?

Yes something else, the people arround don't realize that I have anything they think I am normal or very close like the pain I have is very minor, even my father, and this annoy me sometimes, like I feel sometimes anxiety and thoughts rushing in my head or some DP/DR but I guess I don't show or I am getting better I don't know :) probably the second guess, cause it comes in seconds and gone in seconds like your body and mind is walking on a rope trying to balance you or getting you to your normal state of mind

Hi Tommy,

It sounds as if you have a pretty good awareness of where you are at right now. It must feel comforting to have symptoms go for good.  A sure sign that you are on the right road.  Gives people like me good hope also! You obviously have come far in your journey to get well.  Here's hoping that your remaining anxiety, DP/DR, GI problems etc will improve with time..

You can post anywhere in the forum from my understanding.. A lot of us started blogs in the Buddie Blog section once we found our way around.. It's a good place to have daily contact.

Have a good day :)

Hugs,

Betsyxxxx

Hey Tommy, :)

It's nice to know you also!  I'm still tapering.  I crossed over from 30mg Clobazam to 15mg of Valium in August last year. Been tapering since then. I'm now at 4.5mg.  I was a right mess when I started.  Clobazam has a short half life and I was cutting way too big as per my neurologists instructons.... It took me a long time to stabilize but I eventually did. It's no ride in the park right now but infinitely better than when I was in acute w/d. I also take Carbamazipine and Sodium Valporate..

If you look at the bottom of this post you will see my signature line.. Most people create one so people can see where others are at..

  • 2 months later...

Thank you Tommy for replying to me abt spasms, just wondering , did the tightness ever cause your face to feel strange, like pressure , or your hands or fingers ? mine feel like my fingers are really fat , but they are very normal, I cant feel texture anywhere on my skin , but I can everywhere else, my hands are really painful and fingers , I had alot of spasms there for a few mths off and on , my feet are even sore , feel like I am walking on crushed bone. I was wondering do the spasms and tightness cause the strange feeling in my hands , arms, and face , cause my neck is really bad , tight really tight , like an elastic band streching around it. Was it anything like that for you. Thnak you sooo much Tommy for replying to me abt it easing up, it gives me some hope.

Love Laura
