The FDA isn't perfect but I have no idea who the maker of this video is or how she came about her information. This is her opinion.

 

I'd also like to state that our Anti-doctor and Anti-psychiatry Sentiments Advisory  also extends to the FDA.

 

I understand why we're all frustrated (I'm tapering as well) but anti-doctor or anti-FDA post are not helpful although I understand why you feel this way. Having said that, we are a support forum. We are not anti-doctor nor are we anti-FDA.

I wasn't aware of this advisory.  If I read it I don't remember doing so.  Ofcourse, my memory is terrible these days.

 

Questions and frustration regarding lack of benzo withdrawal awareness routinely come up on this site, and I suppose this was a way to respond to them.  I'll be more selective of my posts in the future.

We live in a plutocracy ruled by lobbyists and well funded special interests. I don't mean to sound cynical, but this stuff shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who is paying attention. Our liberal president appointed a former Monsanto lawyer to be the second in command of the FDA in 2010. I'm not anti FDA, far from it, but to suggest that parts of the FDA have not been subverted by the companies it serves to regulate is ignoring many facts which support this claim.

 

Companies spend money to support their bottom line, for drug companies this means lobbying to increase the things they can prescribe drugs for and increase their profit margins so that their shareholders make money. That's not a conspiracy theory, it's capitalism.
