[...]
The last two days I've been experiencing on and off "stabbing" pains in the upper left part of my chest right around my heart. It does not feel like heartburn (although I suppose it could be.) It seems to be triggered mainly if I cough or speak loudly. Also, the area seems "tender"; if I press down on it with my hand it aches. If it keeps up much longer (more than a day or two more) I'll probably get it checked out...I've had like three EKG's during withdrawal though and they've all come back normal. I'm in my early 20's so the odds of it being a heart attack/something along those lines are extremely low (or so I was told in the ER when I ended up there freaking out about a similar issue some 9 months ago). I know better safe than sorry but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had something like this.
[re...]
I am sorry you have a sx that is so scary. I have a pain that feels like someone is pinching my heart in my left chest area. I have had it for months. It is VERY painful. It hasnt killed me yet so I assume it will not. I think chest pains are pretty common in wd. Try to distract as much as you can and to tell yourself you are safe. Hope it gets better soon.
[Su...]
Hi aj, I feel these little jabbing pains right where my heart is located. I felt this right after my c/t, and a few times during my taper. More recently, I noticed the pains for a few days...followed by heartburn, and IBS symptoms. Today...I feel burning in my chest right where the heart is located. Do you know what might have triggered it, for you ? I asked about the heart pain symptoms back in 2010, while I was tapering. It seems to be a withdrawal symptom...but a very frightening one. [...]
If you have someone you know push on your chest where it hurts, and pushing on it makes it hurt more, then you can pretty much conclude it's chest wall pain and not pain from a cardiac issue. Just a little trick I learned as paramedic.
[...]
Thank you recoveringfrombenzoz, sunny girl, and yram. I don't know what exactly would have triggered it except maybe an increase in stress these past few days. It actually seems to be letting up now so I'm thinking that's a good sign. Will definitely remember that trick about having someone push on it where it hurts.
