just reached 10 months off

As noted in a separate post, I just marked my tenth month off.  I was hoping that I would have a success story by now.  In fact, on January 1, just about the 8th month, I was close to writing a success story, but felt that I had to be free of symptoms long enough that it was not even a thought.  At that time, sleep was quite good, and mainly what I got was light and muscle sensativities in certain situations.

Since the end of January I have had a rev up in symptoms.  The really bothersome ones are muscle tightness that pops up in the neck, eyes, and jaw, as well as more broken sleep.  I find that I will wake up after about an hour or two, generally with a lot of tingling and buzzing.  That was something that I used to get once in a while a few months ago, but had pretty much gone away.  I tend to go back to sleep after that, and I typically get a full night, but it is not a pleasant experience.

As far as the muscle tightness, that has been a problem on and off, but as of January, it was fairly minor.  Not it can interfere with daily life.  And it has also become more prominent in my jaw, especially when I wake up from sleep -- I can tell that I have been clinching it more than in the past.

Any others with similar experiences?  I would love to hear from you.  Thanks

Hi Pfeff.

I was doing pretty well at 10 months off, but would have some old symptoms flair when stress hit me pretty heavily.  I don't think it's that abnormal to have little scares from time to time.  I'm just about 2 years off now and doing fantastic.  No remaining symptoms at all even with lots of stress.  Just try to look at the positive of how far you've come and that will give you hope.  It's a rough ride, but I'd venture to say you'll be tons better by 1 year off!

Hi Pfeff,

By my calculations you are at about a year off now?  Congratulations!  Happy Anniversary!

In response to your original comment at 10 months off, I am having a very similar experience you were having now that I'm at 10 months off--extreme muscle pain/stiffness and waking up after 2-3 hours of sleep all tingly and anxious.  This was worse for me at the very beginning of w/d and seemed to be improving a bit in the beginning of this year, but over the last month or so my neck, shoulders, and upper back have been hurting me so badly that it's hard to stay focused or concentrate on anything let alone sleep.  The tightness on my right side has reached a point where my right pinky gets numb and tingly like I have a pinched nerve or something, which I'm pretty certain I don't.  The stiffness is also REALLY painful and debilitating--never experienced anything like it.

My mood has also been very bad, severe anxiety and depression.  Spring has never been a great time for me, but this year I'm having one of the worst depressions I can ever remember having.  I'm currently doing CBT and not making much progress because of my ghastly mood.  Insomnia's been the worst problem from the beginning of this w/d nightmare and lately it's worse than ever.  How long can a person go on 3-5 hours of sleep a night?  I've been doing this for almost an entire year.  I don't know how much longer I can take it.

I wish I had better news to report, but unfortunately this is how it is for me.
