Sudden onset of shivering?

Hi friends--

 

Tonight I had a sort of alarming "shiver attack." I felt a bit shivery this morning waking up, but otherwise physically fine most of the day. Then tonight I had a genuine "shiver attack", it was alarming. I went from feeling halfway decent to suddenly shivering as if I had a very high fever and having to lie under tons of covers shivering quite a bit for about 45 minutes. It was uncomfortable. Now it's over and my head just aches. I am quite certain this is related to w/d. Very strange.

 

Has anyone else had experiences with this? If it persisted for a long time, I would of course get medical help, but this just left as quickly as it came. Sort of like a panic attack but with the shivers instead. I'm in the lower doses, and also may be dealing with a delayed 'kindling effect' from having reinstated, so expecting weird stuff.

 

Wonder if others have had to endure this?

I can definitely relate to a sudden onset of shivering.  This was one of my most alarming withdrawal symptoms.  I had just gotten out of bed, and without a clue what was about to take place, i started to shake and shiver for about 40 minutes.  I could not even push the keys on my cellphone, i was shivering so wildly.

 

I had never been so cold, ever.

this has happened to me around 4 times the first few lasted 30 minutes  now they come real mild and could stop them if I get into my portable sauna the heat stops it right away try a warm shower if it happens again

I get waves of chills. This could be my organic anxiety but it seems more intense than it used to.

Less now than eary in WD though.

Yes I've had these. I think you can put them down as a withdrawal symptom.

Yup, me, too.  I had the chills costantly which is still ongoing but not as intense.  I never worried about it....just another stupid symptom.

Yes had them.

 

It was in August of 2008. I was trying to taper the Klonopin, and after this one cut, I had these for four hours.

I mean how can someone shiver that bad in August heat? Y'know. It was a hot day, too.

 

I think it's a withdrawal s/x.

I was shivering all morning and feel really cold--like the shivers you get when you have the flu.  Also nauseated and exhausted so I guess I really am experiencing benzo flu!  I LOVE HOT SHOWERS today.  It's the best part of the day.  All my sx lift for 10 blessed minutes...

I've had it a few times, but not as intense as some have described here.
