[ji...]
Out of the blue I've developed a PVC arrhythmia. It's an extra heartbeat in between beats. It feels like a flutter. I went to the ER and they said it's not dangerous. It's uncomfortable though. I'm confident it's from the cipro as development of arrhythmia is listed as a delayed side effect. Anyone have these and if so what did you to to control it?
[da...]
Hi Jittery...I have had PVC's for months. It is not dangerous but when it happens I know how upsetting it can be. I get it when I am very anxious...mainly when I lay down. I can't lay on my left side or my heart thumps against my ribcage. I too have been checked out and it's not anything my doctor is worried about. I really don't know any tricks to make it stop...maybe someone else can chime in and help with suggestions. [Th...]
I have had them for 20 years, sometimes they are sustained for about 20 beats .. I also have AF and SVT ... thing that helps is pretty much what you would say to someone going through withdrawal, avoid alcohol especially red wine, avoid caffiene, chocolate etc .... keep well hydrated as dehydration makes the heart a little twitchy and you will get more PVC's, try not to get constipated as that can make it worse also ... and when they do start do a quick sharp hard cough and this often stops them ... gentle progressive exercise is the key aswell ... hope this helps .. [ji...]
HI guys, Thank you for the responses. It just came out of nowhere and now they are happening all the time...several a minute. I have an appt with a cardiologist. How many specialists can I see in one month....I think this is four. I swear, between this and my gallbladder and insomnia I feel like giving up. I'm sleeping better but it's not perfect, so that's hopeful. These PVC's are very scary. I don't drink any caffeine or alcohol and I don't smoke. That's the advice they kept giving me in the ER and I tried to tell them I don't do any of those things! Will these go away or will I have them forever? [to...]
I have read that symptoms can go on for a long time after withdrawal. I would check with your dr just to be on the safe side.

[...]
Hi, I'm water titrating off of K. Down to .134. I just started having heart problems this week. I've had heart pounding/racing when I eat certain foods (fats/carbs), but this is different. It just started this week. Fluttering feeling very rapidly. What you all are describing sounds like what I have, including worsening when I am on my left side. Has anyone had this symptom and then have it subside later? It's awful. [pu...]
I have had pvcs for 13 years now off and on. They were definitely aggravated by the benzo thought. Magnesium helps a lot, plus I avoid caffeine, drink a lot of water, and try to get enough sleep. Hope they go away soon. I have had all of the heart tests and my heart is fine, but they still scare me a little.

Nothing to worry about. Mine are acting up in wd. It will calm down. The worst thing to do is to worry about them. Glad to hear your sleep is better. Awesome. Hopefully your doc will reassure you that you your heart is sound. Hopefully the beats will go away when wd leaves.
[ji...]
Thanks everyone. I think they can be caused my mitral valve prolapse so I think they will probably check for that. So I guess this means they will stick with me forever, huh? They may be on and off? It's so miserable. It takes my breath away when it happens. I really need to get better. I still have a lot of shakiness and weakness. Although my sleep has improved dramatically, new and awful symptoms have taken it's place.
