[vi...]
Dear Buddies Is it "normal" to have a distinct worsening of insomnia (though not other symptoms) as you go down? If it is merely about the sedative effect of the valium wearing off after a few weeks (I read this somewhere) then would slowing down the taper add any value? Will the insomnia get any better? [Ho...]
I think it's always a good idea to try to slow down when hit with a new symptom, viking. That's what I do. I held for 4 months once until I felt better enough to continue with my taper. It can't hurt to try a hold...and it just might help.
[vi...]
Thanks Hope! This is what my conscience tells me to do, and I just needed a gentle nudge. I have to stop being in a hurry to get the Evil Stuff out!! Viking

[vi...]
Wow Lizzie that is amazing!!!! Gives me hope. There is a constant track going round in my head "it is going to get worse, it is going to get worse". There is no need for this negative thinking and you have shown me evidence that this is true!!!! thanks Angela
Guest [...]
Hey angela There is so much hope will give you a good example. In hospital i came down from 45mg to 0 then reinstated to 2.5mg of valium I was originally on 4mg of xanax so a very toxic ride however the lower I came of valium the better i felt had no withdrawals or symptoms during that time was only when i reached 0 did i get that intense inner anxiety. Then the doctor put me up again to 5mg of valium and i was so sick intense burning of the legs, 2 hours sleep and when i did severe nightmares etc then when i went back down started sleeping. Have just dropped from 2.5 to 2 bad move however instantly felt more tired and had better sleep. Mind you i went from 45mg down to 2.5mg in 18 days. Feel so much better still clearly not right in the head but better than i was feeling hey. Make sure you remember that everyone is different you are on your own individual journey right night. challenge the negative thoughts dont try to replace them with positives this has been shown not to work. but you can analize them for what they are just thoughts driven by a negative mind because of the benzo withdrawal. So just accept them once again for what they are THOUGHTS. all will be good im sure with time. Thats what i keep telling myself every groundhog day lol. take care Lizzy
