how fast do we metabolize valium

I have read so many variations on how long a valium dose stays in our system that I am confused.  Can someone more knowledgeable please enlighten me?  I understand the long half life of valium and read that it has and eight day half life.  Is this true?  I generally feel a cut between days 3 and 5 and feel better by about days 7-10.  So my question is if I am at 2mg, how much of the junk is still in my system.  Do I still have the valium doses from one month ago to varying degrees.  Hope this makes some sense, please excuse my benzo brain.

I calculated it takes a month - two months for it to be fully out of the system. That is just my calculation. I think that it varies between people in all honesty.
