[An...]
Has anyone titrated a benzo using a compounded liquid from a pharmacy? Just wondering how that went for them. Would it be easier and more accurate then making your own suspension?
[Ho...]
I only read of one person who did it that way and he didnt stick around long enough for me to learn anything more about it, this was on a different forum. There is liquid ativan you can buy too.

[po...]
I've been tapering off Ativan using a liquid prepared by a compound pharmacy. For me, moving to a liquid was the best thing, it leveled out a lot of my withdrawal symptoms, and helped me feel confident about accurate dosing. Its not easy, I don't think withdrawal will ever be, but so far, it has been doable. I'm also a strong advocate of a slow taper, with holds when life needs them. I've seen too many suffering people to ever support speed. And as a rather impatient and fast acting person, its been a really good thing for me to learn patience and some self-discipline. I'm a better person for this. best poppins
[Ho...]
I think it's a good idea going that way, my mind was was not working that wellto figure out how to mix it so I did my simple water titration.
[An...]
Poppins, how does the liquid work? Do you syringe a certain amount out each day and just syringe less over the week?
[po...]
Yup, I had mine titrated to 1ml =.1mg of ativan (which would be 1mg of valium). My 5ml syringe makes it easy to draw, so currently I take 1.6ml out each day - after shaking the bottle out vigorously. After a couple of weeks at 1.6ml, I'll go down to 1.4ml and so on. I had a go at the water titration, but found it tough at the small doses, never sure I was getting an accurate measure cheers poppins
[An...]
Thanks Poppins, so you feel your withdrawal symptoms are less this way?
[po...]
Now I'm lower its hard to say whether my withdrawal symptoms are less cos of less drug, or cos of the compound. What I know is that when I switched to the compound, my symptoms became more predictable and known, which confirmed in my mind that I'd not managed to be accurate when cutting the pill or titrating with water myself. For me, the pattern of dropping then holding for a couple of weeks has worked best. I know others do the dropping a tiny amount each day. I found when I tried that I never really felt myself level off. When I got the compound they needed a doctors script from me - I couldn't just hand over my pills. It also was expensive - particularly since I had to get it from another city. Worth it for me. best Poppins

I certainly do.
