I took a multivitamin/mineral today for 1st time in 3 days. Big mistake? Why?

I'm only on day 13, and have not been taking a multivitamin/mineral supp. for about 3 days. It isn't any big megadose tablet, either.

After I took it today, I seemed to have more anxiety, more head pressure, and feeling slightly off-balance more than in the past couple of days.  Is this just a fluke, or is it really related to the multi?  Why does this happen??????? Don't know if it's related, but I had been taking magnesium at night...200 mg. as magnesium amino acid chelate. Ran out about 3 days ago.  It did seem to help with sleep.  I'm confused as to what to do about these.

Multi-vitamins are a pretty common topic here. Some tolerate them just fine and others say they ramp up their symptoms. I would caution, however, about making a judgement about things on just one event. If there is one things about benzo withdrawal it is to "expect the unexpected" and it might be that you are just having an anxious day, perhaps associated with a cut.

I had this problem as well with my multi.  However my multi proved to be very high in the B vitamins, which are so important, but also prove to rev things up for SOME people.  I tested it out and had my multi for a few days...noticing a definite increase in my s/x hours later (and they lasted for several hours).  Then I stopped taking it for a few days...then took it again and once again my s/x got worse.  So I was able to know for sure it was the multi.

Some people have more success splitting their multi in half.  Others have no issues with it whatsoever.  I may try it again (but a different brand) in the near future...but I also eat so healthy now and trust I'm getting a lot of nutrients through my food.

All the best,

Schatje

Thanks for replies.  I didn't do a cut...went C/T 13 days ago off low dose Ativan I'd been on for months...anyway.  Maybe I will try it for a few days, see how it goes, then stop and see  how I feel.  Just wondered.
