[Fl...]
I have been trying coconut milk for this weeks liquid for titration. It is working fine but today I saw in the grocery store a Coconut creamer which is thicker. They make it with Guar gum in it for thickener. So I will let you know how it works out. I thought the thicker would be better as the compounding pharmacist was explaining the size of molecules to me and how the bigger molecules hold up the Klonopin powder longer so they don't settle as fast to the bottom like it did in the water. I also bought a pill crusher to try to see if this helps make the powder particles smaller. I am dosing 4x a day.

[Fl...]
It seems thick enough but it is too sweet for me. I don't usually have much sugar and it has sugar in it. I will finish what I bought but then probably move on to plan D or am I up to E.

[sa...]
FB, Coconut creamer is my absolute favorite! I'll be right over to finish that off for you, and have a cuppa and chat about things how nice would that be. I don't know if I can post this here, but it is about the creamer. So I have it every day in like cups of 1/2 decaf. I love coffee. Anyway, I am always going to the store to get it. REcently after I bought one, along with the receipt popped out a coupon if you were to buy 2 you get 1.50 off. Well I have a policy that I don't fall for that have to buy 2 crap, but I always use it so I decided next visit, why not, it's gotten pretty pricey ($4) and when the coupon that came out this time said $1.50 off when you buy 3!! lol. I'm like how crazy is that. "If she'll but 2, she'll buy 3". Like I said I'm not even a buy 2 kind of sucker, but I'm home alot and my clients like it too, and it does make them all less, so I got 3 the next time..sure enough....if she buys 3 she will buy 4. the coupon said 1.50 for 4. LOLOL, I couldn't believe my eyes. I thought that was the funniest thing. So that is my coconut creamer story! I'm addicted to it over a year now. Probably going to have to taper off, down to 3 bottles, 2 bottles.....then titrate...welll, in itself. lol. oh dear, i"M getting silly. Best off to bed. Sweet dreams all. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Sarah~ Ps: if I can titrate my valium in coconut creamer or condensed milk, titrating is sounding better and better! [Fl...]
Oh Sarah.......you are the best Now I have to find something I can treat myself with to mix up the K. in. Hmm lets see agave? No too expensive to throw out. I did find a great coconut juice that was very thick and I love it but it also is pricey. I find that coupon thing so interesting. It was just for you. Absolutely come on over for some coffee and I will run out and by more creamer. Even do some yoga with you.
[...]
aww.. you're so cute SN. I actually thought through the mechanics of using SCM but it would cling to the sides of everything. Yes, I seriously thought about it. After experimenting I believe that a thicker substance must be used. Then you don't have to worry about vortexes as you stir. [Fl...]
What I do with my liquids as they stick to the surfaces as you say Goto is I have water in a small bowl and draw up water in my syringe when I'm done dosing and squirt the water in my mouth also to make sure I am getting all the med/dose. I also drink the water down from the bowl and also the empty jar at the end of the day. This way I am sure I get everything as all the liquids I've been experimenting with do stick to the sides of everything. Are you using a liquid? fb
[...]
I just started using almond milk. I may switch to yogurt, but then how would I transfer containers? Same problem with applesauce or baby food I would think. I guess I could use measuring spoons instead.
[Fl...]
I never understood the baby food or yogurt thing. I use an oral syringe to do all my measuring so don't know how one does it with those. I also let my pill disolve in the liquid overnight. Just throw it in and it is disolved by morning. Let me know how it works out.
[...]
Liquid titration involving K seems too uneven when dealing with tiny little particles that are so heavily concentrated with medication. I also let my pill dissolve overnight. But it's not like the particles dissolve completely into the liquid. When I shake it I can see the particles scatter about so it seems really unscientific to just pluck my syringe in there and gather whatever is floating around. Color me frustrated. Has anyone ever tried using a thickening agent such as corn starch. Is that just a stupid idea because.. ?? I feel like if I could mix the pills with a heavier substance I could have a greater change of achieving even distribution. But then there are problems with that method too. Perhaps I should just observe that other people have used titration and felt they had good results. Maybe I'm just too unsure/freaked out.
[Fl...]
This is a common question so it is a good one. I bought some guar gum and am going to experiment with it one of these days. Not sure about the corn startch. You are correct in that it does not disolve but it does kind of disintegrates into smaller particles. The best we can do is find the heaviest suspension that we can still work with. The idea from what my compounding pharmacist explained is the size of the molecules in a heavier liquid than water helps to hold up or suspend the K. particles. When I get lower I may have it compounded by the pharmacist but I am waiting until I get lower as I am not sure my insurance will pay for it. There are other natural thickeners out there also. Agar agar for example but I have not got this all worked out yet. You are doing great and it is normal to be unsure about all this. You will get more comfortable with it as you keep moving forward. We all share info on here so something will come up. blessings, fb
[...]
Thanks for your encouragement. That's really nice. I guess I have done pretty good. Darn it. And I suppose corn starch would continue to suck up water molecules changing the metrics.
[Fl...]
I'm just not sure on the corn starch as I've never used it. Maybe start a new thread and ask around? I am still experimenting ( or planning to) when I get the time. In the meantime I am using coconut milk and it is working fine for me. I am going to mix can coconut milk next with box cocont milk for my next experiment. I want to see if the can milk is thicker as it has a natural thickener in it. You will find something that works right for you and you are comfortable with. It looks like you have come down pretty far in your taper if I read it correctly. How are you doing? I am going turtle slow; micro tapering so it is going to take me a long time to get completely off. wishing you well, fb
[...]
Well I got REALLY lucky because I adjusted easily to my initial cut of 25 percent. So THAT saved a lot of time. I hit a wall trying to go below 1.25. I'm currently at something like 1.185 (I can only hope) and I notice the effects of even a slight 5% reduction now. So I plan to do the more gradual 1%/day plan if I can ever figure out all aspects. Seems like it makes a lot more sense and actually I'm not sure that it's slower then making 5-10 percent cuts and then holding that for 1-2 weeks. [Fl...]
Check out the liquid valium thread. Even tho I am not on valium I also am doing micro tapering. Glad you are doing well.
[fi...]
FB, Are you still using Coconut milk? Thanks. fg
[Fl...]
Hi fg, Yes currently coconut milk. The coconut creamer was way too sweet for me. Too much sugar in it for me. My next try will be mixing coconut milk from the box with the coconut milk from the can. The can kind has natural thickeners in it so I want to see the consistency of it. Are you going to try liquid soon FG? Hope you are doing ok. fb
[fi...]
I'm just trying to think ahead in case I need to go the titration route. I read where Klonopin doesn't dissolve properly in just water. Of course, I can have my Klonopin compounded, but I don't think my insurance will cover it. By the way, how much is coconut milk? Is it more expensive than rice milk? Thanks. fg
[Fl...]
Fg, Not sure on price. I'll check next time I am shopping and hopefully remember to get back to you. If I forget please ask again. I do know rice milk is thinner as I used to drink it all the time. I stopped because I didn't like something I read in the label nutritionally but honestly can't remember what it was. Have you tried almond or coconut milk? I think the coconut will have more fat in it which would be good for you. Almond might have more protien but not sure........... [fi...]
I would like to try both of them (but haven't yet). I have tried coconut yogurt and really like it, though. fg
[...]
Almond milk is rather thin. The consistency is similar to water.
